They chose to use a sand and cement mortar mix and apply with a tuck pointer and hawk. The final brick slip feature wall is a beautiful end result.
The substrate was plasterboard and having removed the skirting board (and around 25mm from the skirting boards either side) the wall was scored and primed ready for the brick slips to be applied with brick slip adhesive.

You can add or subtract 1mm or even 2mm from the mortar spaces without it being noticeable so if you keep measuring up you can make it work nicely!

Looks great. We’d like to brick slip an area that’s currently artex, how would you go about prepping the artex wall for brick slip

I’m afraid it’s removing the artex first, it won’t be able to hold tiles unfortunately. Once removed you can get started as with the rest of our videos

If you're doing anything with the artex, get it tested for asbestos first!

I thought u had to add cement to the wall as well as the brick slip?

Yes, in an ideal world you would- many installers though just add the adhesive to the back of the slip and place it with a slight twist as it's quicker and more efficient, but you're right the perfect way is to get adhesive on both.

Thanks for your feedback on our product. It's real brick, with the texture and impact, that comes with that. Rather than a 2D image, they're different things!

@@andrewkitchen2723 Hi Andrew, that’s it- if the wall isn’t already skimmed though, that’s even better! Don’t spend money on skimming as you don’t need to! Have a look at the blends on our website to see what you like best!
