Beautiful work as always buddy. A pleasure to watch the level of skill. The pointing looks so satisfying haha! Speaking of, can you do a video at some point on when to point up? Like an explanation for the "tell" the mortar gives when it's ready for pointing? One thing I've always wondered is when freshly laying the first course, how does successive courses of laying a bed and then tapping bricks down, not force the ones underneath out of level and squish their own mortar beds down. I guess you just have to be gentle with the next courses.

Thankyou! It’s nice to have a bbq again since my old metal one broke. Yea I can do a video on when to point when the next bit of brickwork comes along - it’s the fine line between too wet and too dry. In the summer it is fine with laying successive courses as the mortar goes off enough but when laying engineering bricks in the winter you can easily disturb the course below. You just have to have stiffer mix and be a bit more gentle. There is some bricks which will suck the moisture out of the mortar even in the winter so then it’s ok it’s the engineering ones that are the worst. Another thing is keeping the bricks dry in the winter so they can suck the moisture out of the mortar and give it a chance to go off
