Anybody who knows anything about Brian can tell you how he’s always not cared much for performing live. But to see him performing on stage and actually enjoying it is a rare experience. Love seeing that!!

1998-2005 or so were peak performance years. I'm not sure if he was just feeling great after the Landy years or if his killer backing band had anything to do with it, he was more into it than he was in the 60's during that time. You can hear him singing Carl's part most recordings from that time

Bruce and Brian are the only two on the record here. Brian loved the sound of Bruce’s vocal on the song, and loved experimenting with another vocalist in The Beach Boys mix. You can hear him very distinctly here and on the record singing, “I Wish They All Could Be California”

But they've always been friends... I never once heard Bruce Johnston say a bad word about Brian...and he just seems like a legit good guy, can't say the same for Mike Love, I wish Bruce Toured with Brian,Al,and Blondie.. I just saw em last week.... Brian sang great but his age is showing...he used a walker and had an escort and he sat at his piano and I don't think he played but he sang his heart out and it was amazing, they played literally like 6 outta my top 10 including my fav please let me wonder

Fabulous! My family was stationed on Guam when this song was popular. The Air Force Base was on a gigantic cliff with a beautiful view of South Pacific beaches. We had a beach on the base and I spent every spare moment at the beach. The Beach Boys were the music playing in the background of my life.

My Dad was stationed at Tachikawa Air Base outside of Tokyo 1962-65. Graduated in '65. I too enjoyed the Beach Boys then and later as a young sailor when I was stationed at NCS Guam Guam from 1967-68.

Brian never needed it.

He's not singing, he's Lip Syncing watch his mouth. He's way too far off the mic. 1:36 I'm a concert sound engineer.

Wow. Another sound engineer who's never heard of a condenser mic. He could have it a foot away and it would pick up his voice. The other mics are Shure SM87's.

But regardless his lips don't match the vocals, he's way off axis multiple times, and he's been publicly accused of lip syncing for years. Do your home work before u come @ a guy who's mixed thousands of shows live and toured mixing FOH for 25 years. What are your credentials? U play guitar in your basement studio in SC?😂

@@SuperBfrizzle I have mixed live music. I have also done video production., This is a video, the sound was "peeled" off and remixed with overdubs. How many "live albums" are actually live? Grand Funk in 1970, that's about it.
