The simplicty of his lyrics is what I love most about Brian Wilson. He takes those words to a place that always touches my heart, and I can almost see into his as he weaves that besutiful music into them. There will never be another Brian Wilson.

The way I see it, based on what I know, she did everything she could to care for Brian and pull him out of the spiral that he was falling into. Keep in mind that they had two children during their marriage, and Brian was hardly EVER present to raise them given the state he was in.

While this is a great performance, it makes me so sad as we all know that isn’t really Brian, not the true Brian Wilson. This is Eugene Landy’s programmed version of Brian, and it makes me so sad to know that while Brian is giving a great performance, he was being tortured by Landy in private, and would never fully recover from years of abuse both drug and emotional.

So not Brian's natural way to dress. Clearly Landy styled his outfit. I mean: leather pants are not what I associate with Brian Wilson. So not him, but his voice was magnificent, gotta say that!!!!

you can tell that Landy probabaly had somethin to do with his wardrobe..cuz those leather pants are kinda ridiculous lol... i say that with love bcuz hes my absolute fav artist of all time... also.. am i the only one who has never seen brian perform a song without playing an instrument like his signature grand and/or bass ??...great performance though all the same. Love & Mercy.

Brian sounds like Frank Sinatra on drugs. So good that Landy was fired later. He saved Brian´s life but could have killed him too.

Oh my. He looks like some kind of Frankenstein, created by Landy. It's Brian's body but he's not there.

A sort of triumph for Brian at the time, I suppose, but it has that degenerate Landy look all over it. For me, unless I see Darian and The Wondermints, or Al Jardine on stage with Brian, I'd have doubts about what underhanded orchestrations were going on behind the scenes. Thankfully, I think that today his band, wife, and friends have his back; and best interests.

you know - they don't make other people who primarily play at the piano strut around uncomfortably - (which is why - before and after this period - Brian is generally at the piano...or keyboards at least - though one time he had a keetar) - Landy was a moron if he thought making Brian do stage moves looked better than him at the piano - haha - you know what else might have helped - sunglasses - (and wearing them at night wouldn't look any goofier than the leather pants here) - I know Roy Orbison was much more comfortable with them on - the few gigs Ive played - Ive worn sunglasses - if you are a nervous person -taking out the eye contact part of things really helps (or even Brian's "smart" glasses he wore during Pet Sounds....same effect)

+hellomcflyy but notice - despite all of this - the vocals sound as good as the record....the backing band is a bit uninspired - the song is a bit faster - with no tension between the verse and chorus......

That Girl Look, Beat Girl obviously isn't up to date. No crime there and plenty of people have tried to, some successfully, rip him off. But, as you wrote he's still touring and sounds damn good. My point is such a mean spirited response to her is unnecessary. Lighten up, you almost sound like Mike Love.
