Creative sparks and killer riffs are flying everywhere on Brian Setzer’s new album 'The Devil Always Collects' out now via Surfdog Records. The 3-time Grammy award-winner’s guitar work is virtuosic and blazing on these 11 tracks, and his vocals deliver the clever storylines of catchy songs like “The Devil Always Collects,” “Girl On The Billboard,” “Black Leather Jacket” and “Rock Boys Rock.” Add in non-stop breakneck rhythms, and you have an album-produced by Brian Setzer and Julian Raymond and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge-that stands with Setzer's best. It’s always been Brian’s special talent to inject the roots of rock with a contemporary freshness that unites fans of Rock, Americana, Rockabilly, and Punk.
Look for Brian to hit the road in the U.S. starting September 27 on his “ROCKABILLY RIOT” tour, marking his first live shows in over four years.

Damned right, and he had that talent when he was 20, when the Cats started out here in the U.K. There was already a Rockabilly scene, as was punk, mod, skinhead/ska, Psychobilly, but you'd get all types at a Stray Cats gig, lots of Clash fans too.Good times, when it wasn't all baseball hats and tracksuits.
Brian, after more than 40 years of loving your music I can say you're always and forever one of my guitar heroes !
Thank you Mr. Setzer for keeping this music relevant!❤
Brilliant.
Brian fucken rocks. Whether he's with the stray cats or solo, he jams. Rock on Brian! Come o he had or has his own orchestra.
Best guitarist of all the time.
Kick ass. I don't know why I always thought he was British. So happy to find out he's American. And still rockin'.
This gentleman is the best 😺
Brian nailed it again. What a Killer Album
LIVING LEGEND !! 🔥 BRIAN SETZER 🔥
Brian the king of rockabilly. 😎👍

I love him but for some reason the word 'orchestra' rubs me up the wrong way, his music is street, dirty rock n roll
A truly amazing guitar player & performer for sure ❤️🎼🎸❤️!
You've come a long way since doing gigs at the "Hot Club" in Philly.....you deserve everything you have 'cause you worked yer azs off to get it! Continued success and good health always to you and yours Mr. Setzer
Love Brian xx
Man, there is something about old stuff. Seriously can't wait to get my cafe and put a good old jukebox in the back with a dance floor. Love the bikes. Absolutely gorgeous. Brian's the best, man!

One of the best guitar players around.....
I agree with you all. Such a great guy in the 80 ' s no one ought to play rockabilly. In French just lost guy .... And the Cats since this time he is a legend Hope to see him in Europe you are lucky on the States . Go cats go...
Love songs that want you to get up and jump around. Real movers. SPARK ! Call it what you will. Love this guy so long.
Mr Brain is currently the best and most famous Rockabilly star! I've been a Stray Cats fan for a long time! Without Brain Setzer, Rockabilly would never have caught on! Thank you Mr. Brain that I was able to witness the wild years of my youth! At the age of 14 I was already a Rock 'n Roll guy in a Marlon Brando Jacket and Chuck Taylor All Star (Shoes)... today I'm 55 years old and I've still remained faithful! Greeting from Germany :)

Well there was already a Rockabilly scene in England, that's why they came to London to start their career, there was already an audience, but the Cats were in a different league, just from Brian's incredible playing , Evan at 20/21, the look was like the Clash with bigger quiffs, he has a great voice, he definitely put Gretsch back in fashion, as Paul Weller had done with Rickenbacker. Great energy, great gigs, and still doing it.
This new album is a front to back banger!! 🔥
Very Very COOL!!!!
We love ya brother! Keep 'em coming!

Can't figure it's been from 1981 I'm following this guy...😊 Hugs from France
I love Brian's playing. I can remember seeing them on MTV.....I am staring at the old LP. I have my 6120 on the stand and my Blonde Bassman from '61. Brian...if you need another Bassman and cab...let me know...sounds amazing. I always laugh to myself that one day Brian will be out west and will need some gear for a show....got you covered.
His latest album is excellent, still in the timeless setzer style, I love it.❤❤❤
So cool to here Brian ..love the bikes and hot rod .long may he play and sing ..😊 living the dream man .need to catch up next time
Awesome! New album is on the money 😁
You rock Brian! Loads of respect. Hoping to see you in upstate NY soon!
appreciate these little interviews….brilliant.ThanX!…..X
Brian is King.
I remember when Mtv launched... First time I saw the Rock This Town video - that was it. That was the most badass-cool thing I'd ever heard. It was like a religious awakening. Don't ever stop, Brian!
Got my tix for Foxwoods for next week, see ya there Brian!!!
What a great guy, still the rockinest (and the coolest) Cat in the galaxy. This album is a killin' one (a kind of "Race With The Devil"...) Love you Brian (and one more thanks for this 43 years of Setzer-A-Billy music)
Been a fan since they launched their career here in England on Top of the Pops. Adam and the Ants made their first appearance on the same show with Dog Eat Dog, which had an old Rock n Roll sound to it. But Brian's guitar playing on that lovely '59 orange Gretsch 6120. I still can't play like Mr Setzer, but I definitely play with that sound, twang with a bit of a growl and slap back echo. Was at the Rumble in Brixton gig, which had such an energy to it. One of my all time fave gigs was on the Ignition tour 2001, great album, great show at Shepherds Bush.
Picked up the new album the other day, sounds fantastic!. Can't wait to see you back home in Minneapolis!
Please come to Germany. We are waiting...
Bravo
Man! This is gonna be fantastic!
I am a neighbor of Brian's (not that close but in the community) and a guitarist myself - and yet I will never divulge where he lives because I feel a strong loyalty to him: he's already given so much and he deserves peace & quiet as he endures Minnesota winters so the love of his life (his wife) can be with her family. :) Brian is a superb guitarist AND a true gentlemen. MUCH respect and thanks for the pre-COVID Treasure Island gig with the Stray Cats, so good! Opener band was fire too - wish I recalled their name!

Psychobilly, yesssssss ❤❤😁🤟
5150 percent awesome
Pushing 60, I remember watching stray cat strut and rock this town back when MTV meant something. Been a huge fan since with over 25 cds in my collection. The big question is, why isn't Brian in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame..
Hi Brian ! Saw you in Phoenix last week, you put on a great show ! Picked your new record up at the show and been spinning it even since. Looking forward to seeing your Christmas show in PHX as well. Remember, you promised to be there lol !

Would love to see Brian and Mike Ness get together to see what they can come up with. I'll stand all week in line for a ticket to that show.

Baxter Cycles. Did you get a Royal Enfield?
The most underrated guitar player ever. Nobody has been more active, and commercially successful without getting his due props among the guitar aficionados. He's too successful to be named with Robben Ford and Tommy Emmanuel, and not successful enough to be named with Slash or Jimmy Page. He made a hit with a dead form of music, and another with a 40 year old cover. All his songs and song choices are played to a very entertained crowd, even if it's at Woodstock in the 90's and the kids never heard of him before.

The only people who would "ignore/dismiss/underrate" Brian Setzer as one of the all-time greats, are those who know nothing about great guitar playing & cool music anyway. But I do dig what you're saying my friend, and I'm with ya on all other counts. Because Brian Setzer is an absolute monster on the guitar.
@jmflyer55

Interesting comment. I don’t think I’ve EVER seen someone equally compare, and put the two names of Slash & Jimmy Page in the same sentence! Slash is second rate guitarist, who’s still stuck in the minor pentatonic scale! He’s just famous because he’s PART of a famous group! While Jimmy Page is an entirely different level, the man is a genius and an innovative, master guitarist. No one, I repeat no one that knows anything about guitar, could compare the two as equals! 🙄🙄 As far as Brian Setzer goes, he’s a phenomenal guitarist, most certainly equal in my opinion to any Rock a billy guitar great. Cliff Gallup etc.. But the thing about Brian is, he’s an entertainer! Not just a simple guitar player who shreds till your eyeballs melt! Brian sings, plays, conducted orchestra, a true entertainer. These other guitarists are PART of popular groups. Brian IS the group! People go to see him, to be entertained. That’s a HUGE difference than just being an even great guitarist in a group. Brian’s been my personal favorite for decades, and has been a major influence on my playing. But what MANY people miss IMO, Brian may not be the most famous guitarist, or “best”, “most technical” guitarists, which is a title that can’t be given to anyone, because if the many styles of playing and variables. ie. Some classical guitarists are incredible, many Flamenco guitarists are fantastic, Gypsy style, jazz, and many of these styles cannot be easily compared to determine a “best” all round guitarist. Impossible. Brian IS the RockaBilly King! And I love his style and playing ability. PS. If you want to hear Slash play in comparison to Brian, there’s a video on KZread where Brian gets on stage and plays with Slash. Look it up and watch. That will give you a clear idea of the differences and talents of both in playing.

Exactly. That's what I said. The only people who would "underrate" Setzer as a guitar virtuoso are those who are utterly clueless about guitar, and cool, timeless music in general. Nearly every guitarist worth their salt knows damn good & well that Setzer is an absolute MONSTER on guitar. Also: Rockabilly is one of the hardest guitar styles to get right. It's very tricky.........yet SO classy at the same time. @@ParaBellum2024
There's neo-rockabilly There's psycho-rockabilly There's Starbucks-Orange-County rockabilly There's euro - ja-ja-wir machen-rockin' rockabilly There's Western-swing-traditional-blues- Influenced rockabilly There's Australian shrimp-on-the-barbie- Carry-your-surfboard-to-Sears- To-buy-your-rolled-up-Levi's rockabilly There's rock-a-Johnny, rock-a-Sally, rock-a-hillbilly It's all too stupid, and it's just plain silly
I haven't seen him in yrs and I guess I thought he was a Brit. Maybe it's the Paul McCartney sleepy, slanted eyes. Michael Caine has it as well..
