Brian's Tour Of Clonakilty and Environs

Музыка

For our St. Patrick's Day Celtic Sojourn this year, we went virtual and over 3,800 people joined us - even more than would have in a "normal" year with four or five concerts around New England. We are delighted we put this together and will probably continue with some form of Virtual in the future even when LIVE returns! Anyway, one piece I thought I would throw in - especially given that most of us have not been able to travel for a year, is a quick tour of a part of West Cork that's near and dear to my heart.
Working with the truly amazing Tom Vaughan of Ballydehob, we came up with this. Check it out. And let us know if you are interested in coming with us on our next Learning Tour which we will fire up just as soon as it is safe to do so.

I was just there visiting a long time friend from Cork. He took me to Clonakilty and out along the coast. What a wonderful part of the world. Thanks for sharing.

I have an O'Donovan ancestor who married a Ronan from the Ardfield and Rathbarry parish and they eventually moved to London, their daughter married an O'Driscoll from the Clonakilty area of Cashelisky whose family also moved to London - all around the black years of the late 1840's. I was born in NZ but have metaphorically taken my people 'home' on my many trips to West Cork where I feel 'at home'. It is the most beautiful part of the world. It is a long way from New Zealand but this Kiwi does fly North regularly. It was moving watching this video and the places I am very familiar with. Bless.

I am always keen to travel with Brian on his GBH Learning Tours. All arrangements are first rate, and you cannot ask for better comrades in his music adventures.
