He also has a ridiculous reach for his height, similar to what Conor had at FW. Volk is 72.5 at a height of 66 inches while conor is 74 at 68/69 inches. Volk's crisp striking is partly his insane speed but also his insane reach.

Same with Ortega’s Bjj. Honestly fighters should spend time learning the new skills out of fight camp and then focus on the bread and butter in fight camp
