Brian Mulroney funeral: Daughter gives emotional eulogy for a "truly great father"
Speaking at Brian Mulroney's state funeral on Saturday, daughter Caroline Mulroney delivered an emotional eulogy, remembering the former prime minister as a "truly great father," and a charismatic public speaker who cared for everyone - regardless of position of power.
"He became a truly great prime minister and a world leader. But to us, he was more than that. He was a truly great father," she said.
Caroline, his only daughter, also shared remarks about the unique bond she shared with her father, and the last words he shared with her mother, his wife, Mila Mulroney - a promise to one day meet again.

Caroline spoke so well and lovingly about her Dad. The Grandchild who got up spoke, sang and so lovingly shared moved me to tears.Mozart to Danny Boy... i hope Canadians viewed. Our prayers go out to the entire family. RIP Great Man.

Beautifully said. My sincere sympathies.
My husband and I watched the 3 1/2 hour funeral of Mr. Mulroney and when it was over we felt quite Patriotic. We were the same age as Brian, voted against him twice but always respected he and Mila . Today we took the time to listen to every word of all his accomplishments and the love and charm that was our 18 th PM. We even had a few tears for a person who just loved his country and tried to do the best for its people. Such a beautiful Canadian family .. RIP Mr Mulroney . .. May a song fill your heart, Every step of the way.. 🍀

Who paid the bill for this spectacle? The taxpayer. Who paid for all those lovely perks like using a government helicopter to take his kids to (private) school? The taxpayer. Please provide detail of how he improved Canada's economy and quality of life for those who were, at that time, middle class and lower - ECONOMICALLY . Thank you. Of course to his family, he was a good father. So was mine.

One of my late uncles was a criminal. We remonstrated with him constantly until he changed, repented and did what he could to make anends to former victims. We mourned him at his funeral, and miss him still. A good father can make mistakes, but overall rectifies the mistakes and sets an example of good morality for his children. I prayed that somewhere in the Mulroney family reminiscenses would be a tale of some drop of humility. kindness and solace for Brian's many victims. I'm still waiting to hear one.

Oh how I mourn for this family and our country. We had such a wonderful man leading us. What has become of Canada? Trudeau should not even be in that building. Trudeau is the complete opposite of Mr. Mulroney. God bless you Sir and condolences to Mrs. Mulroney and all the family. Thank You for your service to Canada.
