Lots to explore!!
BRIAN MAY:
"Is there no limit to this man’s vanity ?!! Not content with duetting with Gary Barlow, Kerry Ellis, three hundred #jamwithbri volunteers and a baked potato, he now has the effrontery to duet with himself !!
Ancient and venerated Lonnie Donegan song - conceived long before Bob Dylan’s fabulous “Like a Rolling Stone”, and a certain seminal English rock group who may or may not have been inspired to name themselves after it, this song was one of the main reasons I followed the risky path into Life On The Road. For that is what this song is about.

Hope you’ll forgive my low-tech multitracking !!
Bri"

Hi there guy! I see you're keeping your mind, body, and soul occupied. A great way to adapt to these circumstances, huh? It will be for just a little while. Meanwhile, you just keep bringing those MicroCons, the commentary, those words of wisdom. I'm enjoying every bit of it. It's like watching a variety show, you get music, laughs, a little dance, special guests, a couple of surprises, and as Freddie would say "a little this, a little that". But you just keep being you, my sweet, kind, and caring friend.

Thank you Brian for taking a few extra minutes to educate us about all the history of that song ... it was fascinating... and quite frankly, I never equivocated on my adoration for Queen to jump on the Beatles' bandwagon.. Surely many of their songs were beautifully imagined & played, but my Queen preference remained solid from the 1970s thru what is today's date? Your guitar alone clearly identified "the Queen sound" in the first few notes from the very inception of the band. The identifying sound o f Queen has always been your heart coming out of that other voice of yours, the Red Special. And one cannot ever compare Roger's gifted, incomparable drumming to Ringo's, never. Roger almost climbs inside his drums when he plays them, he goes off into his own magical musical world as do you, that's what we feel listening to both of you. Never once have I heard either of you "phone it in" as many other bands do now. With John bringing in his incredible talent, we had a saying way back then & still now i said it to my 13 yr old grandson... I told him when I bought him his first sound system for his own room for his 13th b'day last yr, along with 3 vinyls of Night At the Opera, Day at The Races & Sheer Heart Attack, & Greatest Hits I,II & III cds.. "Kai, once you hear Queen's music, nothing will ever be better for you". Factoring in Freddie's unequivocally beautiful voice & range together with his undaunting drive to become the best band ever in the world, which you have done & then some, don't ever think a Queen fan will desert your sound, your talents & your heart. There just isn't a chance of that. Any time you feel down & feel the blues are imminent, just recall all the hauntingly unique genres of music that millions, MILLIONS of people are still wanting more of.. oh, yes, & then there's your Doctorate, the Queen decorating you, & then playing on her roof!! You just get better with age, sweetheart ! U will never get old... Love you boys, Sailor Suzie from Oregon

I enjoyed the song and your performance. Your experiment was a success! Then I got a kick out of watching you listening to yourself talking about Lonnie Donegan. Now and then I even forgot you weren't two people. you seemed so interested in what the other you was saying. That was fun. Years ago I only knew Lonnie Donegan for his chewing gum song but a few years ago I discovered him again on You Tube and have now a pretty long list of his recordings. I really really love his performance of Frankie and Johnny and on a lighter note Puttin' on the Style. Now you have inspired me to find more of his music. So thanks for your performance and for your talk about Lonnie Donegan.

A bright spot in my day Brian! Magnificent harmonies One of the bright spots in my shelter in place days. After a decade of not picking up the guitar, this and the other micro-concerts have inspired me. Just the other day I changed out my strings with a set of #9's that I mail ordered and what a difference! I actually can bend those strings! I got that tip from Brian's "Red Special" book that my wife gave me as a Christmas present this last year. A wonderful book, anything you ever wanted to know about the most iconic guitar in Rock history! (except one thing, he needs to add one more chapter....) If I recall correctly Brian found out at about age 8 that the old blues players used banjo strings because they were thinner than the guitar strings of that era., a pivotal discovery in the development of a rock guitar genius!
