The thing I love about playing Queen songs on the drums is that they're very technical and yet at the same time it doesn't take any more than a year of playing before you can play most of them. Taylor was one of the best drummers of all time in that he played songs that people could learn easily, but that weren't something a five year old could learn.

First in this case , there's no bass so you dont realize your ear is missing the backbone of all mucic the anchor . For Roger trying to cold out a groove while someone plays some guitar licks.. let's say what you're hearing is warm up. There's a few of thos warm ups around of The Beatles and you wonder who in hell is the group breaking the gear.

oldd man still got it
LOL , ask any rock musician you can , what it sounds like when you go into a studio cold. specially for the drummer and singer .
Nice jam

Roger does this thing with the hi-hat as he hits the snare... he always closes it at the same time he hits the snare. I can't think of any other drummer who does that.

no, he didn't. Roger closes his hi- hat inmediately later to snare beat. It's called "back -beat", a Roger's trademark. Sorry for bad English. Greetings.
