The Moyles question about phrasing of the songs and how that fed into the creative process with Queen and Freddie was brilliant. Never heard Brian speak about that process before 👍🏼

The songs each had its own meaning when Freddie sang it & different meaning when sung by Brian. Both were fantastic & I kind of favor Brian's singing because he was singing from his heart & his feelings that he was going through. Truly love both versions . They all wrote such amazing songs for QUEEN & Brian when he had his own band. So much love & appreciation for them both

Ahhhh... The song was recorded for the Miracle album (too much love will kill you).... Never knew that. Thought it was done around the Innuendo sessions. And Freddie not wanting to split royalties with 'some woman' and that's why it never came out then! Hahahaha. Classic.

Interesting how Brian said they always split things four ways. This wasn't always the case. They only made the conscious effort to split songwriting credits equally in 1989 while making 'The Miracle' album, as Freddie had learnt his fate by then and they didn't want arguments over songwriting credits impeding on their creative process.

  • @itslikethesamebutdifferent8020

I always thought, and had this theory about their sharing songwriting credits, that the reason behind it was that if we saw the names of the songs we would know who wrote what and thus people would know that the more sort of sad and autobiographical songs dealing with the past and life in general in a more somber mood were Freddie’s: Was It All Worth It, All God’s People, Don’t Try So Hard, The Miracle, whilst songs like Headlong and Ride The Wild Wind which were more mundane and just regular songs were Brian and Roger’s respectively. So one would think hey is freddie trying to say something? He sure sounds like there’s something wrong. Then again Brian wrote The Show Must Go On and Roger wrote These Are The Days Of Out Lives so i may be way off on my assumption.

@@itslikethesamebutdifferent8020 The sharing of credits beginning with The Miracle was indeed to do with making sure it was one less argument. By this point we have 4 men who were approaching middle age and in Freddies case, he didn't know how long he had left so I think it was a good move. Back in the day it was a big thing to even have a b-side released because the writer of the b-side got the same amount as the writer of the a-side.

Brian May is not a fair play man! He did a damn vile thing with the BR movie ..- he portrayed a clown with the help of Rami Malek Brian! Freddie Mercury was not an unfortunate, hysterical little gay, but a huge talent! Genius! Brian May wouldn't be talking here now if it weren't for Freddie !! The Queen, it started with Freddie Mercury, it ended with it !! Brian May still today - lives on the work of Freddie Mercury. Brian's scientific work - known only by the sign of "dr". It is unforgivable what Brian is doing with the legacy of the real queen and Freddie Mercury !!

Freddie recorded vocals over basic tracks and sometimes just vocals for the express purpose of the band finishing them after his death. WHat they should be ashamed of is continuing to call the band "Queen" with Freddie and John both gone. Call it "Smile" which was Roger and Brian before Freddie.
