Went to see The Horizons Tour at Derby Arena in September. Brian and Robin were amazing. I would recommend this to anyone who likes astrophysics, whatever your level of understanding. Fascinating. Brian is the modern day Carl Sagan, with an equal passion for science communication.

Most teachers don’t explain it properly because they themselves don’t understand, they just memorise shit they’ve read. Only the ones that truly know and understand the processes and concepts can translate/ simplify them to communicate it to the students

What is the difference between the idea that our Universe contained the blueprint for our existence and all else or that there are infinite random Universes? It is a mix of historic events, analogous stories, fables and fiction. Another interpretation of the Christian God is that God is not a being as such, but that God is the Universe and all things within it and the consciousness of life. Open minded people are agnostic because they recognise there are unsolvable problems with the atheistic and theistic view. For example there is no reason why our Universe is not deterministic, indeed it should be if there was a "big bang" and only the laws of physics with no outside forces yet very few atheist recognise that they are arguing for a deterministic Universe and therefore that they have no free will when they reject the possibility of God which makes their arguments paradoxically redundant.. Personally I sway toward God because I believe in free will and that this is evidence of God just as how the choice of how to exercise that free will is governed by conscience. I have no issue with whatever people believe themselves just so long as they are honest about what they believe and their motives.

If you answer no to that then you must also believe your life has no meaning and therefore all you do within it. Nothing positive can come from that and given you cannot know the truth of it then it seems like that would be a nonsensical self-destructive position to take. If you answer yes then you can further consider what gives it meaning and how and why did we as meaningful thinking entities come to be from inert dust and gas? From an explosion and superheated plasma one might eventually expect to see a rock and dust, a thinking human being that plasma gave birth to considering whether that is more than an accident - not so much.

I could listen to professor Cox for hours. The whole subject of the universe is so interesting and the way that Brian Cox explains in such a calm and sort of straightforward way is brilliant.

Apart from getting to listen to such an interesting information, his voice is also very soothing. This man was born to be a great lecturer.

I met Brian about ten years ago. What a nice and approachable man. Super clever of course.

This is my first time watching Brian Cox explain science and I'm glued by his enthusiastic, charismatic, elegant and simply way of explaining things to his audience! Also, I love that he doesn't come across as obnoxious in his approach to explaining things. He explains things in a way that seems like he's excited yet also takes it in a manner where it isn't bombarding you with so much information all at once. It's like he is guiding you to the information, rather than slamming you with it.

I saw Brian on his tour and his energy when talking about this stuff is just infectious

If we are so unique and are probably the only people in the the universe why the hell are we so hell bent on destroying ourselves??? There’s enough nuclear weapons on Earth to destroy it several times over,we are playing with total annihilation.

This man is one of my heros tbh. So good at explaining complex things to do with the universe in simple terms. He's an absolute gem. Could watch brian cox shows all day.

i've been listening to Brian for many many years. A fabulous human being, Gentleman, and scholar.

as a 23 year old, listening to this and knowing the intelligence brian cox has given us amazes me beyond words. the passion he has is inspiring and i aim to grow and become as aware as he is. i loved watching this.

Could listen to Brian for hours and hours. So fascinating and interesting to listen to.

I love Proff Cox, he puts things in such a simple way so that we all understand, it is so beautiful.

The multiverse seems like an interesting topic to discuss. This man really goes into detail what what he knows about the universe and the future possibilities that may occur when the time comes. They say nothing is ever impossible in this world, so chances are, there will be extraordinary events that will happen sooner or later.

String theory has been proven to be the most mathematically accurate theory. However, the challenge now is to actually test it.

Puts all our silly trivial little worries into stark perspective.This man is a national treasure,could listen to him all night, I often do!!

I love this bloke for introducing astronomy to so many people by being so good at explaining it for the lehmann. His DVDs were bought for me as Xmas gifts which I was thankful for.

Love Professor Brian, I remember when he first came on TV ( not as a singer, in a boy band ) but talking about space, Earth and the other planets, I already had a healthy thirst for learning but he fueled that, and opened my mind even more.

The problem is that a small minority of people will want to be the leader of that new age And all for the wrong reasons

some people think research into space and where we came from is a pointless enterprise but when you here someone like Brian talking about it, it seems really heckin important

I love listening to Professor Cox. I am a novice at best and he makes complicated topics very understandable. I really search out his interviews.

I love Brian cox’s honesty and pure skill in explaining his view’s

Each of us are extremely finite and insignificant, and yet, absulutely unique and priceless, and that, was the most important thing Dr Brian Cox has taught me. It's not that he was the first to come up with such idea, but he was the one that "dumb it down" enough so even a moron like myself could understand and appriciate it, both philosophical and scientific ideas, and that is why he has my absolute resepct.

I like the fact that his way of dealing with the immensity of all the things he talks about is - by laughing a lot about it. And rightly so. What else could one do?

There is no beginning and no end, uncreated, eternal & forever.

We are cellular. I'm with the evolutionary Darwin. I'm also all the way with Prof. Brian Cox who once said, that we are all going to be stardust in the end (it was poetic, and never forgot that). Sorry, but he said it in a much better way as he ended his series and I think he's extremely cool, unassuming, and modest in his wide scientific knowledge (Professor). A very smart bloke! Not to mention, he was asked the major question and he answered. And that was super cool for me.

An enjoyable learning experience is about the simplest way I can describe listening to Brian. I would love to be in an audience listening to him even if it was him thinking out loud.

Why aren't they doing something actually useful. I saw on the news the other day some geezer has invented homeless booths on wheels anyone can use and lock to get a secure and restless sleep if your homeless. For me, that guy is the real genius. Cox is just pure ego and babble after babble about no sense. What a waste of a 'gifted mind'.

For what i saw he didnt do mutch Just resumed what some people have said ( we dont even know if its true ) Yet based on theories he made more preditions and acted like if it was all logical But in reality it has no logic what he says ( somehow i even got mad , thats close to manipulation since most of it arent facts )

I remember when he was a fresh face, pitch black hair and i could listen to him all day long. I can still listen to him all day long and it is mostly his voice i hear when i set up my telescope and spend the night looking at things he talks about. An excellent teacher
