As a Pennsylvanian, I used to enjoy the snow when I was a little kid, but as I've gotten older, I've realized that winter time in general just completely sucks balls.

Fellow PA guy. With the mountains and valley geography around where I grew up, we either got light flurries or got dumped on. So it was either no big deal or the town shut down for a week.

May 1982 was the issue which the other guys mom posed for penthouse magazine. Allegedly, the 13oClock crew had beef about her? According to the lore.

Alright, I remember the glory days back in the 80s and 90s there used to be this thing that fell from the sky called snow. It was cold and icy. It made your mum a worse driver than she normally is with all that swerving, and sliding, and shit. She'd be all "Buckle up and sit still," We'd be in the backseat holding on to anything that can anchor us down, just bracing for the inevitable impact with some other car stalled in the road. Anyways if there was enough, we would get to stay home and tell mum, "Hell no, we ain't driving anywhere." And instead we would go door to door collecting all our neighborhood friends and have a snowball fight. It wasn't much fun being the lonely kid tossing snowballs at your own shadow, or the base of a tree. But there we were. Throwing snowballs at each other. It was fun. What can I say?

Snow can be fun but by the time you're done shoveling it, having a snowball fight, or just playing in it you're soaking wet and have to go home out of the cold. It also sucks to drive in

Snow is a four letter word in the Great Lakes region where we have Lake Effect blizzard and it makes driving into a blood sport. Also wet snow can be very heavy and weigh as much as 45 pounds per cubic foot. That’s 20.4 kilograms of wet snow that can cause heart attacks and strokes for people who have to shovel their front walkway.

What is great about snow days is that you can stay inside and not need to deal with the cold. As apposed to super hot day, which you just kind of need to deal with. I mean, not everyone has good air conditioning or easy access to a pool, and their is only so many lairs of clothing you can take off.

I have had one (maybe two) snowday(s) growing up here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and like every other kid not having to go to school it was freaking sweet! Though because I grew up here in the great white north we got tons of snow (usually 3-5ft) and our winters are around -35°C (95°F) aka colder than a witches t🍵t (teat).

From Maine(North East U.S) snow is cool but then it becomes a pain in the Ass got to shovel, plow, get the snow off your roof, clear it off your Vehicle if you have a bad storm probably going to loose power limbs snap hit power lines, and how much of a pain in the Ass it is really depends on the type of snow if its wet have snow sucks hard light fluff snow not bad but it gets deep quick. But it is pretty when it comes down before the plows turn it to dirt snow. Oh plus the salt to melt the rusts your vehicle out too.

So does it ever snow in Australia? Or is it more like an ice rink for hockey or figure skating?

@Irish381 lol no no the resort is real snow. But there are some artificial ice arenas in populated areas. There was a guy in the 90s who got trapped under snow here, Stuart diver his name was. Crazy story

I dont really have any interesting snow stories but snow is pretty overrated. you can play out there for like and hour or two before you're freezing your ass off and need to go inside and it makes driving a living hell. Especially parking lots because people drive over it so much in the parking lot that it becomes brown and squishy slush which is a hell to walk and drive in. So yes, snow is pretty overrated
