    So I assume you santized the other equipment not in the video? the chamber you used to boil is transferring to the fermenter? if so, this seems to make brewing super easy

    Hi David -- with the BREWHA BIAC brewing system, the fermenter IS the boil kettle (and mash tun, HLK). The heat of the boil sanitizes the fermenter, saving time, money, and ensuring chemical residues don't end up in your beer. It is the simplest way to brew the best beer! :)

    I'm interested in this product but I live in an apt. Am I to understand that I need to keep this attached to my faucet for the entire fermentation process-especially for something like a lager? Just wondering if aptbrewing is feasible for me. On top of all this, idk how I'll be able to regulate temperature after bottling--but I guess that's an unrelated problem.

    There is information on this in the BREWinfo section of the website but I would recommend this link in particular brewhaequipment.com/blogs/brewinfo/15328289-maintaining-low-fermentation-temperatures-without-a-fridge

    Just for clarification the ETC is an electronic heating and cooling element? I live in California and have trouble regulating fermentation in the summer.

    You mentioned that you are using water in the water jacket for sparging, how much water does the jacket hold?

  • @Brewha

    @Brewha

    Hi Steve, sparge water can be slowly ran through the jacket and will be heated from the inside so any volume can be used for sparging. However, jacket volume can be seen on the specifications page: brewhaequipment.com/pages/biac-specifications

    I don't recall if we used the Chiller for that batch or not as it was several years ago -- I believe we may have used tap water for cooling post boil, and maintaining fermentation temperature.
