    Nope. Bret is a massive baby and needs to get over it. It's been like 25 years dude. Mistakes happen in wrestling. His own brother basically ended Austin's career, and do you see Austin whining? No, because Austin gets it. If a single kick like that one was enough to end his career, then Bret probably shouldn't have been in a wrestling ring in the first place at that point. People take worse kicks than that one every week in WWE and AEW. 100% understood when Goldberg said he was done apologising to Bret.

    80 seconds in and I'm still counting the number of times Bret has used the word "safe." Even before Goldberg, Bret Hart was known as the guy who you could have a great match with and still be able to work the next night in a different town. Being safe in the ring is everything in wrestling. That and psychology. You can be a great promo, but if you're hurting the guys you're working with, you can't make money with them. Bret was an incredible storyteller, but the story could continue if necessary because nobody got hurt.

    I can agree with that. If Bret's going to say Goldberg was an unsafe worker for kicking him in the head, He might as well say that Owen was unsafe worker for dropping Austin on his head as well, Owen also dropped Dan Severn on his head for real in one of his matches. Getting dropped on your head is much more dangerous than getting kicked in the head in my opinion, Not that it makes what Goldberg did any better. From what I heard from Austin, Owen handled what happened to Austin poorly. He didn't even call Austin or check up on him to see if he was ok, At least Goldberg called Bret and asked him about his injury to see how he was doing. Owen didn't even do that.

(And Rockers may have not been very experienced at that point) And let's say it, it was probably more a way for Hart to take a dig at Michaels, while from what I recall only, HBK had nothing to do with it. - Owen HURT his ring partner himself, hurt him really bad, and is very lucky he didn't paralyze him, with one of if not the most reckless pile-drivers (or move) you could ever see in a pro wrestling ring! A day-1 student wouldn't have done it as bad, with all of Austin's head exposed and with him sitting down. It's like Owen wanted to injure Steve. I think Bret would have loved to work with Kane. He usually has strong opinions about anybody if they are the slightest bit reckless in the ring, but I don't think Bret has ever complained about the Big Red Machine. I think it's also a testament, since big men often don't know their own strength, and early 2000s Kane was about as strong as they come. Even if he were slightly reckless with his size and strength, he could have injured a lot of people. But overall, he is near the top of everyone's list when it comes to safe performers, which is really a testament to his skill. I know he did have 1 match with Isaac Yankem, but that doesn't compare to what a full blown feud with Kane would have been like.

And not only did the Rocker turn his body over even though Chuck told him he was paralyzed, his partner then jumped from the ropes to body slam him for the count. Yokozuna botched a banzai drop, which was among the only moves he had that actually required some coordination on his part and nearly killed a man with it, Lesnar broke Hollies neck, proudly reinjured Angles neck, injured A-Trains neck, and caused several concussions (even one to himself) and hardway bleedings during his career. Vader was legit the most unsafe high profile wrestler in western wrestling history aside from maybe Abdullah The Butcher, he was notorious for legit hurting people, he severely injured various jobbers, he even caused broken ribs and a ruptured spleen to a big star like Sting, which is why most high caliber wrestlers refused to work with him. Goldberg meanwhile only injured Bret Hart once, and other than that he mainly injured himself, even Rey Mysterio caused more injuries than him over the years. • @RavenGlenn

    @RavenGlenn

    He wrestled some more, yes. Because concussions aren't like breaking a leg. The person who suffered a concussion literally had their brain fucked up and has no ability to determine whether they can continue or not. That's why professional sports now have to have concussion protocols to keep players safe and are almost always extremely cautious about letting someone who took a blow to the head to do anything until they can show they are truly okay with a lot of testing and doctor opinions. That all didn't exist when this happened to Bret. He had no idea how badly he was actually hurt and wrestling in those other matches likely made the injury even worse.

  • @MeMe-fc6bn

    @MeMe-fc6bn

    Oh I agree 100% how concussion protocols have progressed and Bret could not have known the severity of his injuries. I think upon reflection all these years later, I think that side of the story is often glossed over. I understand his narrative completely blaming Goldberg back when the incident happened however knowing what we do now, I’d like to hear Bret talk about that. If Bret came out and said look I carried on wrestling I diddnt know, wcw diddnt know, and presuming medically clear to compete imagine how many careers including my own could have been saved potentially. II think would probably be a fairer assessment now reflecting all these years later Like you say if this incident happened now, likelihood he wouldn’t be medically clear to compete until fully healed and his career may not have ended Fan of both these guys, but I think to blame it solely on Bill now knowing what we do seems harsh.
