@HurricaneTBag usually the 81 goes in the bridge, but when the 85 or 89 is in the bridge, it gives more bite, sounds fatter and delivers a more "organic" sound which is cool when you're using low tunnings.
@jedikkeoma14 жыл бұрын
when you put emg 81/85 on a broomstick it will sound the same as on a PRS custom 24. your point is made very clear and i totally agree.

@Weiser87814 жыл бұрын
@jakerulez11 The 85 and 60 are commonly seen in the Neck position, but they sound great in the bridge. The 89 is a coil tapped version of the 85. They have an Alnico magnet which makes them fatter and warmer. The 81 is a ceramic magnet which is sharper and thinner. Personally, I like either 2 85s or an 85 Bridge and 81 Neck

Funny enough I just got an old 97 black Gibson Explorer and made it just like this one to a T, the pickups, Truss rod cover/ pick guard. Only thing is I use 12s for my strings. Light to heavy set is nice but for C standard I feel like I would have to tune way too much because my bridge wasn't setup for it.
