My son hurt his finger at work and had it wrapped up. He went to a Chinese Takeaway to get lunch and after giving his order for chips, the young woman behind the counter said “ Sore finga?”. My son went into the story of how he hurt his finger and the woman said “ No no, sore finga?”. This went on for some time before my son realised she was asking him if he wanted ‘salt and vinegar’! This was years ago and it still makes me laugh out loud!

I met him a few times in OZ too and he was great company...quick witted and genuinely funny even when not on stage. He was also a fine singer and very good at foreign accents

Local Radio in the North West of Ireland once broadcast that Brendan Grace joke, The Chinese Takeaway, many years ago. I had a cassette tape running at the time (remember those?) so I had this on tape way back in the 90s. R.I.P. Brendan Grace.

My family had Brendan's audio cassette and we'd listen to him for hours. What a funny man. R.I.P Brendan Grace.

My fathers friends son found Brendan's wallet in Jacobs pub in saggart Dublin years ago, we were still using pounds at the time, and he didn't give the kid as much as a pound out of it

I was in Galway the day he died. I also knew him. His daughter and I worked together in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
