That's actually quite common in really artistic people. Especially as you grow as an artist. It's kind of a spiritual journey of tapping into others emotions. The more you can understand and respond to peoples emotions, the much better the art gets and the deeper the connection you can make with others. In interviews you can definitely tell the difference between an artist and a performer. That is not to say one is any better than the other. Both have their place and both serve their purpose. Some artists don't like the spotlight and therefore have performers perform their art for them. Some performers aren't really that talented and creating art but they're extremely good at performing it. Some are really good at both. But you can definitely spot an artist when they speak. Creative people are by far some of the most interesting people to speak to. Sadly they're also some of the most misunderstood people.

Being a victim of abuse shouldn’t have to be seen as a threat to a career. It should be a sign of bravery to talk about it

I agree with you. But you know what the issue here is? The person who apparently did this, has never stopped denying it. Also, nobody else has ever accused him of the same thing, so there can't exactly be an investigation. Think about the setting in which he said this, me too was big (still kinda is), his career had stalled badly due to him NEVER looking after his body and he had been type cast by that point, in action type roles. And after he said this, he's back in the limelight, he's even got a fan made Facebook page to try and save his career... has anyone stopped to consider that he could just be lying? The benefits to his career have been massive since he came out with it. We also need to realise that 39% of accuser turn out to be liars... 39%... out of 100 people that means 39 were lying. And we just automatically believe Brendan... no investigation, no other victims, just him... come on..

His voice was damaged in a surgery to correct spinal damage from the Mummy. He was always soft spoken, but it's gotten to be a real health concern. He's the man. He gave the audience everything including his voice.

The difference is that guys like Keanu and Bendan, they don't see them self as above others. (not saying Lars&Mads are assholes(because they were super nice to me when i was a kid, but mentally they will never reach the level of Keanu and Bendan :)) Mads and Lars both see them self as above us "regular" humans. And that makes it almost impossible to have a down to earth conversation with them. edit: not saying they are assholes, Mads spend almost a full day trying to get a Christmas present for his nephew- he probably could have called some one to fix it, but he drove around to different toys'r'us's to get what he needed.

He is so kind and sweet. It feels like he's been through so much crap that he's moved by the smallest gesture of kindness, like when Sway told him to come back anytime. Also, he even excuses rude people saying they might be having a bad day. I wish nothing but the best for Brendan. Hope he can finally get his career and life back. Give him good roles and I'm sure he'll handle the rest. We all already know he can act.

I grew up watching this dude and realized I’ve never seen him in an interview.. he’s so soft spoken and gentle! What a talented treasure.

I remember as a kid after the third Mummy came out me and my dad saw him at LA just hanging out at some burger place me and my dad weren’t for sure on this but when we did we politely asked for a picture and we was more than accommodating and very nice about it! Real stand up guy and very genuine!

Brendan Fraser was a big part of my childhood. Sitting in the living room with my parents and watching his movies is one of my most precious memories i have with them. i am so glad that DC cast him as robotman.

I was growing up during the time when he was in these hugely successful, often family friendly films constantly and I just remember the fact that everyone was enjoying them. I'm in my late twenties now and my dad passed a few years back and watching some of Frasier's films that I remember from my childhood bring back the fond memories of my dad like which jokes he'd laugh at the most. It's funny how some films will stick with you like that, even if they're just goofy slapstick comedies.

First time watching Sway's channel in a while, but the respect he and his team have to let Brendan speak without interrupting him is awesome. Especially for all Brendan's been through in his life. Great job and loved this interview!

I love how soft-spoken he is, how shy and humble and tonally modest, and I intuit this sort of deep sadness beneath the former and present success and familial vibrancy. He has such talent, I think, left to be mined. What an old soul. I predict an Oscar nomination for Aronofsky's next film, "The Whale."

Bro, i got super sad for Brendon when she asked that... feel so bad him. Could tell it gets to him. Season 2 has 10 episodes, only 9 released because they needed to shoot scenes when Covid 19 hit during episode 10s filming. Hope we're able to get that 10th episode and a 3rd season!!! It's such a good series, repeating what I read somewhere, "Doom Patrol is what the X-Men movies should have been."

It's so strange to see him interviewed, so soft spoken and almost shy in comparison to how he sounds on Doom Patrol. I was a little sad when he said it was another guy who played the robot, because you spend most of the time imagining it is him.

What a sweetheart of a man. So glad 2022 is treating him well.

He's had multiple surgeries, even a spinal surgery and was in and out of the hospital for like, 7 years I think he said. Not to mention the sexual assault. He's also said that he was battling depression because of that, and his divorce and the death of his mother.

Omg this is the best comments section I have ever seen, so much love and respect!

He was a huge fav. Always felt sad when he faded away. Learning about the truth of what happened felt like a personal hurt. So happy that he's rebuilding his career. Following him and enjoying watching him all over again.

Doom patrol is such a great show, literally every character has a serious backstory, but it's meshes well with the funny outlandish scenes. I glad to see Brendan back playing fun, versatile roles.

I wish we would see more of him on the screen! He's a good dude and a great actor!!!

Brendan has been an actor I have admired since I was 10 and saw the mummy. 20 years later, I'm a mom who is still a nerd and watched doom patrol, despite being a marvel over DC fan, solely because he is there and he has made me fall in love with these misfits. But other than that, I admire him as a father. I have twins on the spectrum and so often people speak to me like it's a disease but he speaks as if it's a gift, which it is. Thank you for being the first and remaining my favorite actor for so much of my life.

Just love Brendan, such a genuinely humble and kind man. He seems like he’s so full of humility and empathy which is such a rare find in this world especially in Hollywood. You’re truly admired Brendan!

I love Brendan Fraser's work and I was so happy to see him back on the screen. Some actors make you feel so good through their work that you miss them when they are not around. Brendan Fraser was truly missed. He is so versatile and an excellent actor. Whether comedy, action, or drama, he kills every time. Thank you for taking time away from your kids (and horse : )) to entertain us again. Your kindness and humility are humbling.

The man has been to hell and back. Good to see him again.

I read the story about the horse and there was a lot more to it. His kindness is very touching. Most introverts and people on the spectrum relate much better to animals than people.

@@christopherstone4336 he has always been a extroverted introvert. He plays up the larger than life characters of some of his films as part of his job, but really is shy and inwardly nervous. He's spoken about this in various interviews. He has also suffered from depression throughout his life, not just with divorce and career stalling. Cheers.

Its incredible how quiet and softly spoken this guy is by default when you consider Cliff in doom patrol is almost the direct opposite. That is some incredible acting right there.

Brendan Fraser comes off as very personable. This is why he excelled in comedy and adventure movies. At some level you are always cheering for him. What amazed me is how great he was in Gods and Monsters. He is very underrated as an actor.

This man....this man.....i hope he reads comments on his appearances, Brendan you ARE the man!! Grew up with this Hero! And still growing with him. Love from Ireland friend!!

Doom Patrol really shocked me. It's definitely a good show

He gives his ex credit for being a great mom. Tells you how good of a man he is. She raked him over the coals with their divorce took his house and I believe she had full custody of the kids or at least she tried when the kids were younger.

Brendan Fraser is the man. Spent most of the interview praising others. LOVE HIM PERIOD.

Rick O’Connell was his best character. The mummy is a classic

That movie is such a classic and Rick was so hot.

Ive never seen such a positive reaction to an actor on the internet as i have for Brendan fraser , the guy is so lovley, kind and funny.Glad to see him back!!!!

Far more soft spoken and shy than how he was in the mummy interview 20 years ago. I love Brendan and glad he's getting good roles and that people are on his side.

I actually watched the series Texas Rising when I realized Brendan Fraser was a key actor. I loved watching him act and the role he played. He is a gentle human being with an amazing soul. We love you Brendan!

Can't remember where I saw it... It was an article of Brendran Fraser and the life he has had. My whole hearted appreciation is reached to him. He is such an awesome guy that is wanting to do good. People like that are wonderful to have.

They say you learn something new every day. Today I learned that you can Fed Ex a horse.

I can’t get over how sweet and gentle this man is. I just want to give him a big hug and talk about all my favorite parts of the mummy.

The goofy thing is, is that all of this time that he took off to almost reflect on his life, made him that much more of a better person. Hollywood could use some more real people, because it seems to turn the best of people into monsters. People like him and Keanu are the people that Young and inspiring actors should be looking up to. This is how you should be an act, this is how you should treat people. Never forget where you came from and where are you would be without Hollywood and the success you had in it.

Wow. Thanks for having Mr. Fraser in the studio for this. I initially had no hopes for the Doom Patrol show, but seeing him tear up that role has turned me around 180 degrees.

If they ever made a Banjo-Kazooie movie I want Brendan Fraser to play Banjo.

Brendan Fraser is a national treasure. I love the way Sway and every one there treated him as such. The love in that studio was palpable and it made it truly heartwarming to watch this because of that. God bless Brendan's beautiful soul

The highly underrated Blast From the Past was one of my favorite movies. A comedy true to the 90s.

Wow yeah. Wow he would have been perfect. Thinking about it he may have been THE most perfect person ever for that role.

I'm always taken aback by how soft spoken he is in real life compared to the high energy he has in movies.

Brendan Fraser, you are one of my favorite actors. As a kid, films such as, Encino Man, School Ties, and With Honors were some of my favorite films. You had a tone of hits in the 1990's, and your continued success in the early 2000's, was awesome. I wish you success, and I look forward to the day you prove to Hollywood's elite that you've risen above their bullshit and blacklisting. Brendan Fraser, you got a raw deal, but your comeback is going to be the ultimate payback! :-)

Can I just say I’ve never known how much I’ve missed Brendan Fraser until Doom Patrol, and until this interview. He just feels very genuine and kind hearted. We must protect BF at all costs!

Brendan is such a pure and humble human being. The world needs more people like him.
