Technically Gabrielle Carteris was ushering into her 30s at the time. So she was already a grown ass adult before everyone else. What's weird is that I don't know if she's the first ever adult female actress to play a role as a high school teenager. I just don't know, TV business can get a lot of shaky shit passed around like a hit potato, especially if it's Hollywood TV business.

She got away with it the first two seasons (barely in season 2) but by season 3 it became absurd. Her, Luke, and Jason. And Ian, really.

After finding out these two did not fvck with each other off camera, I gotta say you can tell there’s some tension there. Anytime Brenda and Andrea had solo scenes together there was always this weird ass tension with Shannen and Gabrielle.

I remember this episode!!!! Hahahaha

In the original script Brenda kicks Andrea in the box. I bought a copy of Ebay because this is my favorite episode.

Ah high school. Just loved it so much with my Cindy Lauper hair and Madonna Lucky Star outfits I would wear only to be called horrible names from future Karen's. I would go back in a heart beat😊

@@nitinbhojraj7308 it's normal, that you have forgotten this episode, brenda was mainly linked to the intrigues of kelly, Dylan and Brandon elsewhere when brenda was linked to the intrigue of stive in season 4, when steve suspected Brenda of having had a relationship with her teacher in order to have the main role in a play, Steve will tell her that he is her brother's friend, and that he was not her friend, she was part of a group of friends without really being friends with everyone, the breakup between Brenda and Dylan, and the fact that she could no longer really be close to Kelly, could have allowed Brenda to open up more to other people who were part of the band, I find that the character of Brenda was very poorly exploited from the end of season 3, the character of Brenda was too focused on Kelly and Dylan, unlike Kelly who had intrigues with Steve, Brandon, Dylan, Brenda and David, I don't remember if Brenda's character had a plot in common with David.

Andrea should.have known better than to go after a teacher. Big mistake

The way they shot the slap is funny, we see the back of Brenda, and the way shes positioned is off. Like when they swap out actors for stand ins, or playing twins. Also the writers put this together, not the actors. The age difference between them was noticable.

So according to Gabrielle, the slap was real and that is a big no no. Not rehearsed that way and not acceptable. Though Gaby never talks trash about Shannen and they are long past this..they were clearly not friends ( and no she was not and I think the only cast member not invited to her wedding..can you blame her?) Again..they are both past it decades later. Also, I am a big Shannen fan. Great actress and she owns her messed up crap now as an adult. I love her podcast. As for Gabrielle being older, yes she was, but so was Ian and Luke! She was only 3 years older than Ian and I love Luke Perry but by season 2 he had a major reseeding hairline. Enough with the Gabrielle bashing, she was great as Andrea!

Well, in this context, the script was calling for a real slap as Andrea was not supposed to expect it. So as an actor, I think Gabrielle could have understood Shannen here. Even in telenovelas most of the slaps are real and the actors are professional about it.

@@suddhadasi well as someone who directs theatre as my job, making a full on connection in any physical altercations ( ie slap, punch etc.) it is always choreographed so that no impact happens. Shannon was in the wrong, just to illicit a response. Gabrielle’s job as an actress was to find a way to make the response look real though the slap was not. It breaks trust between the actors when you knowingly make that physical contact. She was in the wrong. And there are union rules that protect actors from physical altercations in a scene.

It was a good périod… after season 5, the show sucks…

I think I completely stopped watching 90210 after Brenda left. But how could you blame me? I think I saw like random scenes after they turned the Pitch Pit into a night club? Uhhhh okay. No thanks.

She was fired from the show for being vile to everyone. And as this is a 90210 comment section I’ll say what I want. If you don’t like it go and cry somewhere else.
