The Discovery easily cleared all obstacles in the standard comfort mode at off-road height.
The mud sliding was a bit my fault as I did not have it in mud mode. I do think maintaining speed through mud is important - although I'm not sure what to do when the car starts sliding except try to anticipate the drift, correct it and strategically apply the throttle.
A Ford Ranger went through the mud before us, and his tail was all over the place.
