First thing i'd do to that 5th wheel before you hit the road is put new tires on it. Those tires that are put on these RV's are notorious for coming apart and blowing out.

Jared, best tip I ever received for backing up a trailer was to keep my dominant hand at 6 o’clock and then move it in the direction I want the trailer to move. Then it just becomes muscle memory. So excited for your new adventure together!

You got a GREAT deal. Wonderful lay out. Slide outs come with problems.

For the Mattress - order a Foam Mattress online, they ship compressed, you can open it in the space and it will expand. Very good mattresses, lots of choices.

I would leave the pig prints in the sidewalk it adds character to it and makes it have a decoration you could always make them different colors

A little too well 😑 He's a very lucky guy to find someone so similar with the same interests. Plus bree is naturally absolutely stunning. All jokes aside though, I'm so happy they are together as one big family and what a great first project for them to start with. It's so exciting seeing what they will end up with after the remodeling is done, 🙏

You should check the roof..and make sure there isn't any soft spots. And check to see if anything needs resealed. Alot of times they will leak around the AC. Good luck

I'm pretty sure there are rear jacks built in. My dad bought a tripod stand that attached to their hitch pin and stabilized the 5gh wheel section while parked long term.

can't wait to see it when its done sounds like it is going to be beautiful

As a full time rv’er I couldn’t be happier for you.

Pretty soon Bryson will be the "Last Kid Standing" at the Homestead. Garen got hitched and officially moved out. Shae moved out into the old house. Bree is gonna git hitched soon and travel. Bryson.... left to do all the work around the house.

I go one direction with trailers, forward. really appreciate people with the perseverance to back them up. congrats.

Just pressed play & I’m so excited for you guys! OMG you found a gem! I would totally get rid of carpet, go lock in vinyl plank flooring, paint it fresh white, new curtains (be sure to have them insulated so hot days aren’t so bad & cool days are nice inside) if possible magnetic is best to get a good cover seal. Cannot wait!

BREE! Let's talk about this t-shirt design which I think happens to be the best one so far! I mean I think this t-shirt could be a top seller at homestead conventions everywhere - with - one small fix. Hear me out here. HER little home stud. I would buy one of those for my husband. I would. I could sell some of those at flea markets or farmers markets. That shirt has legs. Father's day legs, cook out legs, Honey do project legs. Yep! Mark it up, put it on all the studs and let's have a runway walk and see who wears it best! You did it girl! You found the perfect t-shirt.

Jared got busy on that RV! Congrats on your purchase! I can't wait to see it redone! Mom worrying about the tree made me giggle, lol! There's a little tree!

As far as your weekly peeks, I like seeing more, and maybe in the future, Bree, Garen and Shae can alternate weekly peeks. Might make things easier and keep everyone in touch with the OG Homestead. I know everyone has the choice to participate or not, just throwing that out there.

Hint: to back up the trailer put hand on bottom center of steering wheel then move hand In The direction you want the back of trailer to go. Love it!

I think it was a "on consignment" kind of place. You put your rv on the lot and the owner is the one that makes the final decision on how much and what they are willing to do to sell their rv.

To Bree and Jared, wise move to not getting a trailor with a slide-out. Slide-outs can be a maintenance nightmare, they are also prone to leaks. My advice when you put in roof coating be sure to the right one for the type of roof materal you have. And use white it will make a big difference in heat gain in the summer. Welcome to RV life... safe journey to you both!

Slide outs take a lot of maintenance. Clean the lift legs. Pipi Peterson has a video on that.

Congrats. It is a beauty. Firstly, how about the "mattress-in-a-box". There are some truly good healthy options to choose from. Secondly, and this is from personal experience, regardless of the amount of time you’re planning to spend in an RV, having a place to wash clothes is necessary. The thought of going to the laundromat in each new town becomes costly and time-consuming. We first tried the manual one but we felt uncomfortable with it and did not like it much. Amazon and Walmart have great selections and variety of portable washing machines. The heavier stuff we did at the laundromat. All the best. Wishing you both many happy trails.

so glad you didn't get one with slide outs, the track gears are usually plastic and when they break they're very hard to replace, also they let mice and other creepy crawlies get in...

I love how supportive your family is of each other. It really shows in the videos.

Power lift on the trailer is so nice. Great job backing up. Especially for first time. Don't get frustrated. Go slow. Take your time. A few suggestions. You'll always have a spare on the back. But bring along another spare tire (no rim). Also bring a set of wheel bearings. They are surprisingly easy to change. And even if you are uncomfortable with changing it yourself. You'll have the parts. Grease your axles regularly. And after a long drive, put your hand on the hub of each wheel and make sure its not burning hot. That's the telltale you have a bad bearing. Best of luck!

Hi guys; Just a note about backing a trailer into tight places. Grab the BOTTOM of the steering wheel with one hand and PUSH the steering wheel in the direction you want the back of the trailer to go. (an old trucker's trick!)
