@@JayneStorey thank you Jayne. I’ve just bought both you breath and connect books to work my way though. I don’t know if this is too airy fairy but been going through waves of a spiritual awakening and the last wave mediation was very much the message received. And your message resonates more then any of the other mindfulness stuff I’ve heard

@@mako1134 Thanks for that. I'm sure this approach will help you on your journey. There is nothing airy fairy about sitting in formal meditation! It's one of the most challenging things we can do and a very practical, pragmatic approach to spirituality, golf and life. All the best.

Hi Jayne, I have meditated daily for at least six months. I started your book a few days ago and find you want the meditation done with eyes open. Is this an absolute as I find it very distracting?

Hello Michael, thanks for getting in touch. It's good that you've been so disciplined with your practice, well done. Sitting with the eyes open now probably caused a bit of a shock to the system! We can get too comfortable with our practice so that it becomes a habit rather than a living thing. What you've probably noticed is how busy the mind is. We are trying to be situated between the inside world of thoughts and feelings and the outside world of distractions. Whether your eyes are open or closed is less important than trying to follow the breath with the attention and stay with the sensation of your body. Keep it simple and natural and do what's right for you.

I don't agree with this. You can not make well twisted back swing with the full air lung~!

The breath is taken while focusing on the t'an tien or hara centre in the lower abdomen, leaving the chest soft and the shoulders relaxed. In this way the breathing doesn't constrict the upper body and allows for a full rotation.

I am 68, and have good flexibility for my age, and find that I can make my turn just fine on an inhale.
