Best boss battle theme for an Epic boss

Oh yeah the end was not expected...

it's amazing how different we all play this game.

LOL you got Ryu and Momo lambasted by Rei and even still you won. That's just great. I used to love this game and every single character in it.

Cool looking boss, then again every boss looks sweet in this game :D

This game is for the PlayStation. And it was recently re-released for the PSP.

Only if the character who uses Influence dies. Influence makes sure Rei will attack that target. Also... Ryu can't turn into a dragon in that fight so it's best to use him for support there. :P

LOL that's happened to me. Before I had learned that I needed influence to comtrol Rei. I killed a boss in one hit one time by using warrior dragon+focus+might+and gambit. It was pretty insane at the time

That was long before I discovered Influence. But, yes, I started using that skill from Goblin Boss after I found out it worked. I was thinking back to when I first started playing the game. It made it more challenging though!

I ate too many Brood slayers over the centuries. Craning my neck back to swallow them gave me a bad back.

@weretiger0 More like i should have used Peco and Momo. Also Shadowwalk should go on Momo, to counter her low accuracy. (Ryu has plenty of other options) Of course, this is just my opinion, but that's what i would do if i played this again.

Nina and Garr were my hommies anyway.

Whoa this game caused a lot of pain in the ass.I'm form Greece and when I was playing this game was when......I was 6 years old I think.But I knew somewhat good english then :P.Btw your plan was good even though the ending was bliah :P.You know what I mean ^^

ah... such a memorable battle. i did this just a few days ago. thing is, i forgot to bring rei in, so... the battle lasted about twenty minutes, seeing as my party members were ryu, nina, and momo. that was really messed up.

It would be cool if Rei was in Tatsunoko vs Capcom. His whole character says he should be in a fighting game.

Hehe. Thanks. :P But about Influence... It stays until the user, target, or the influenced monster/character dies. So when Momo died... the influence was removed. :P

He didnt have the catalyst. When he went weretiger he was pissed angry depressed and wanted revenge, kinda like what made goku go super saiyan vs frieza, he snapped cuz of the rage. when he was younger i dont think he knew he could

That right there is epic! BEST ENDING OF A BOSS FIGHT EVER!

@liihagtuyr it's because the human form of the elder is a very old man... if he gets high damage a few times in a row, he becomes unable to use his turn because of his "bad back" which means he has a back ache due to his age... that's the explanation for it... =)

I love this game. My fav rpg in da world. Here a tip, if u make Ryu a O/D type by learning all of the attack moves in the game, his healing skills come by them self. He becomes more helpful to u when hes not in dragon mode.

shield is op, it allows to kill berserker without transforming along with defense formation.

@SuperChristy1990 Games like this paved the road for future games to be awesome, it's just too bad most don't take that path.

yes at first thx for uploading all your vids they are great. this is my favorite game.;) i couldn't take rei in my party for against this boss i can't remember now.. it's a long time ago but i finished the boss with nina and mom that was so.. they died and died cause i didn't trained them a lot :D

No after the Elder talks to Nina, he then wants to talk to Ryu, but that's when the fight starts, so it's a good time to get into the world map and change party members.

How do you did it to fight with Ryu, Rey and Momo?? As far as I remember, he wanted to be kissed and don't accept a kiss from Momo, so you have to fight with Nina ... That would be interesting to know O.ó

Nothing. It just passes a turn.

It's been a while but if I remember correctly there is an ability early on you can get by watching enemies, something to the effect of ordering all monsters to focus on a certain teamate. Well anyway if you watch and learn that move you can order rei in were-tiger form to attack specific monsters so he doesn't go crazy. idr if it works on the uncontrollable kaiser or not...

You can bring Nina to kiss him and still change characters before the fight.

You've died in battle without resurrecting the character before the battle ends. That yellow number means that it's lower than normal. You can fix it by resting at an inn. (Camp resting will NOT recover that.)

You do know that i used that move right? It's called Influence. The problem is that it's removed when the character who uses it dies. Which is what happened here. :P I guess i should have had the move on Ryu...

I was thinking what if I have Beyd in the party? I remember training him to the point that he 1 shots my Momo and Nina and almost 1 shots my Ryu. Beyd would make the elder his bitch. hahahaha. This is such a classic franchise and it's unfortunate that Capcom has shelfed this series.

Beyd was fucking overpowered if you overtrained him he would get only 1 damage xD

I remeber the first time I fought him It was exactly 5 yeras ago I was only 10 years old. I first fought him with Nina, Ryu And momo. I lost terribly after 1 fight. I noticed how hard he was to beat. So I gave up. Something told me to try again. This time I put Ray and turned into the Wear Tiger on my team. I went down stairs to help my mom with the groceries. I came back up stairs and the victory screen was on. Man I was happy. But evreytbody was dead ecept for Ray who had 1 hp left (lol)

Party: "Ohhhh Rei...." lol

Because Momo has a bazooka.

i REALLY need to find a copy of this game

@kingofbudokai don't let looks fool you. :D Peco is actually REALLY good. stick him under Fahl for the whole game and put in lead in attack formation. 100% reprisal rate in this formation plus godly defense and HP plus recovery makes him a beast at keeping your other two members safe from physical attacks. I use Ryu and Rei for my main attacking force while Peco is there for being a tank and recovery purposes

Not Focus. It's Influence. And besides, i used Influence. But Influence's effect wears off if the user dies.

the amount of turns u were getting really made the difference here, you had to have been nervous when he double blowd Rei lol, but a pretty good win.

The ending is priceless... I wouldnt continue after that... Too much exp lost

No he just didnt wanna cause he might attack them cause if u remebr when u was chasing the nue and u find rei in that cabin he says i wouldve done better by my slef

Breath of Fire 1 Ryu transforms into various dragons and are controlable. BoF1 and 2 are the best IMO. :)

how u get rei to learn shadowwalk?

Poor Elder has a Bad Back, otherwise he woulda wiped the floor with you (among with many others of course lol).

When i fought with him,Elder used a Deadly Blow with 1300++ damage

Nina also helped to spam (although since it's not a stat up I think only 1 is useful per) Barrier while Ryu (even though he learns barrier) can then spam shield. I think I had Garr as third but I shoulda used Rei + influence...yah I coulda done this fight easier but oh well I enjoyed it!

btw, in this battle, Garr + 2Focus + Combo = 5500 dmg and im not lying
