Exactly. I have loved this song, and the sample just cannot be called a worthy sample. It's straight up uninspired. Love Daft Punk though. But they didn't do any justice to this.

They took the very best bits of a decent future funk synth song and cut out all the less inspiring bits like the singing. I have a few compilations of stuff a bit like this, break dance electro tunes, but none of them made me go back and listen to it over and over as i have with Robot Rock. It's all part of the big palette of sampling. I can only say this though after taking time to come to terms with the sinking feeling the first time i watched "where they get their samples from " feat Daft Punk. I like homework best by a mile partly for its lack of huge samples. Cheers

Without them you wouldn't even know about this song. Also is not about the sampling, it's about how they gave it more energy and how they found a sample that sounded just like them. Also, take in context that Human After All is like a "fuck you" to their label, they made it in one month or two I think, by contract they were forced to do another record.

I really think people understate 1. How great this song is, Fr, slaps. 2. But also how much extra work went into robot rock, it may have it’s main riff ripped from the song but they added so much more, Distortion, solos, bass, etc..

What a nice song, but it lacks something. It would be cool if a couple of guys would make a version of their own that gave this song some more punch and then creatively hide their faces through characters and continue their creative sampling for years and then retire by blowing up and being set on fire.
