"Life after gaming" does sound harsh - maybe it is better to think of your time making models for gaming as the jumping off point for you being inspired to make ART! Either way we're all so excited to see what you make next!

Dioramas are my favorite part of the miniature model hobby! The story a model tells is the coolest part to me (I like to have subthemes within an army theme, like each unit of battle sisters in a Sororitas army built around a different part of the overall theme of the army). So I'm all for this direction! But also you're an awesome creator so I support you focusing on whatever part of the hobby interests you creatively since the fun you're having will show through in what you make

I think you should consider selling some of the dioramas you make. Honestly, dioramas are more present in my mind when it comes to minis. Probably because I'm a massive introvert and don't really play 40k. Also, I really like the concept of the creation of a scene and telling a story with it. Hoping to make some modular(ish) dioramas so I can make story progression happen and not get bored with a static display. (The ADD is strong in me.)

I for sure know how you feel. I fell out of love with the gaming aspect of the hobby as I got older. I think I was always more passionate about the setting, the actual craftsmanship, and the artistry. I feel like telling a story with your miniatures can be just as great as the "story" you get by playing a game with friends, and the Inq28 community especially I think has really exemplified a movement towards making the mini hobby more about the artistry than the wargaming.

A tip I picked up from a resin casting channel I can’t recall the name of at the moment: Save your shoddy molds and chop them up, then use them to fill space in the next mold you make! As long as you are careful and press the bits into the wet silicone (so that the “new silicone” is what’s making direct contact with what you’re casting) you can save yourself some material costs and also recycle some perfectly good silicone.

I know for me I really like collecting minis, especially GW ones and of those old ones. I always felt like I had to build an army with them or build something to use them for or else what's the point of spending so much time and money, but it has lead me to collect models that I just think are cool and probably won't ever use. I have 20 Empire Handgunners on my desk that will likely never be used in a full Imperial army, but I like them, I like their bits, they're a great kit. This hobby doesn't just have to be building something for the table top. Uncle Adam from Tabletop Minions says something similar, let the hobby be for you. I just wish minis and bits weren't so expensive so we could all experiment with kitbashing more.
