_"Autism is a superpower"_ has helped my grandson, who is nearly 7 in March, to feel it's his superpower as well. He has started going to the gym with my husband, his Papa, as well as joining the little league baseball team. Tom is touching people from across the globe, as we are in the states, of all ages. Thank you doesn't seem to do it justice when I want to show my appreciation to Tom for helping my precious grandbaby to know he isn't weird or alone. Here's to hoping my grandboy will be 2045's WSM!!

The stigma of mental health being a weakness is just so archaic it’s unreal and I think it’s great to see you guys being an advocate for mental health. If guys of your physical strength and stature can talk about your mental health hopefully that stigma of weakness can be disproved, after all you don’t get stronger than the strongest brothers in the world 🥰

I'm not crying, you're crying! 😭 Tom talking about his difficulties when he was younger, and the support he got from his mum and his brother really got to me. I'm autistic as well. It may not have been as obvious to those around me when I was younger, because I was 39 when I got diagnosed. Tom's struggles are very relatable to me, but the support he got is not. I just feel so happy for him that he got that support, and so sad for you guys for losing the rock that your mum must have been for you all. I also feel some sadness for never getting that level of support myself, and for what a chaotic painful mess of a life I have made for myself. Sometimes It is hard to let go of what could have been and focus on what still can be if I put my mind to it and apply myself. You guys almost feel like brothers from another mother to me.

Even though we may be strangers to one another, please know that you have support now!! My grandson, who is nearly 7 in March, is autistic. My son, daughter-in-law, my husband, other family members and myself are all very supportive of my grandson. I call him _"Rainman"_ and he thinks it's great. The first time I used it as his nickname he asked me why I called him that name because he didn't know who Rainman was. He was so excited to know someone else was like him and asked to see the documentary. After that we watched the movie based on the life of Rainman. My grandson tells everyone his nickname is "Rainman" with such excitement as well as honor, because he thinks it is wonderful that he is that way. I have learned so much in order to understand what his train of thoughts are, the way his mind works. With all of that said, if you ever need a friend, someone to talk with or vent to or simply laugh and/or cry with, please don't hesitate to reach out. I'd love to be support for you as I am sure many others on here would be as well. Hugs from Alabama!! PS: For those who are going to think that it is awful that I call him _"Rainman"_ just think about one thing: I call my granddaughter, his nearly 6 year old sister, _"Sister Sledge"_ because she has ADHD Xs 10 and blown out. I want you to think of nicknames that people around you have. Why should I not treat him the same as I do others that have been given nicknames based on their personalities or looks. Like _"Slim"_ for my son because he is so skinny, _"General Jeremy"_ for my husband because he is militant, _"Janis"_ (as in Joplin) for my friend who whines all the time and Janis sings 'Crybaby' and so forth. I think it would discrimination if I didn't include him. Just food for thought.

@@NotASnowflake Thank you! I can kind of relate to Kim Peek (Rainman)in a way, even if neither my disabilities nor my strengths are as obvious as his. I would be honored to be called Rainman, but as you say I'm sure a lot of people would take offense to it. The most important thing is how your grandson feels about it, and it sounds like he appreciates it. I really appreciate your offer to reach out, but being hesitant to reach out is really my default mode of operation! You are awesome though, and I truly appreciate that you make an effort to be a decent understanding human being!

@@thedolenorway Thank you for the kind words. I wrote such a long comment but the point of it was that I don't treat anyone with what society deems "different" any other way than I do with people society deems "normal". I treat people how they treat me. (My grandson is very low on the spectrum and is high functioning. Until you talk to him he appears looks wise as a 7 year old. Then it is immediately apparent that his mind is not 7 years old and that's where the disconnected comes. They don't know how to talk to a 7 year old that speaks and acts 30. He has tested, in math, at a sophomore college level and in reading that of a college graduate with a degree in English. If you have a day where you just need someone and you can, I'm here.

Watching the stoltmans engage with other strongmen and throughout their KZread channel vids, I've always thought tom was socially awkward for the want of better wording compared to Luke. Luke always being the leader/big bro in how they go about themselves. Naively not realising tom was autistic. So glad and awesome to see both support each other through their trials and tribulations through their lives. Love watching them and (sorry Luke) tom is a freak in the strength world (in an awesome way) and you both come across like great human beings. All best to them both. Stay strong, be brave, and keep on fighting. 👊

One day when I'm feeling a bit low, no motivation, I'll remember just one part of this and gain motivation and realise, you can change things. Hearing Luke talk about the cold swims, he talks so much about this, and can remember Eddie Hall saying about his Cryo Chamber thing that goes real cold but you'll have a great sleep, made me just walk to bottom of garden with a cold drink and if it's freezing just a T-shirt and most of the time, did sleep well. Tom mkaes people realise, that once you work hard/train hard, you can beat pretty much any obstacles, ok there may still be some that you can't do straight away, but that mindset, gets you ready for the next set of hurdles.

Honestly, you guys never fail to impress. What an incredible pair of role models, whether you're neurodivergant or not. Tom's example has made it so much easier for me to accept the fact that I'm autistic (and ADHD), something I only properly realised at 41. If the pair of you do nothing else in your careers, you'll already have done so much (but Tom's clearly got more WSM titles on the way.)

I`m fighting with mental illness since a couple of years ago, and it really took a turn to the worse, when my mother passed away 2020. Thank you both for being vulnerable and honest about your struggles with mental health. Look at how far you've come and how you've helped so many people, all around the world. I love you both!! Truly inspiring, caring and loving men 🙏❤️ as a parent of 2 children with Autism, listening to you Tom share his story and Luke share his but also how he said "he misses his Mum" and that each day since she's left, they are representations of her in the world just broke me but also uplifted my spirit too. Sending love to you both and your family from New Zealand ❤🇳🇿

I turned 50 this year and grew up in an era where you put on a brave face toughened up and got on with it. I still live my life like this but work with much younger people and It’s refreshing that we now live in a world where we are actually talking about how we feel. I don’t think you guys know how you impact other people but believe me you do so please never stop ❤

Such humble and professional men. It's fantastic you have a positive attitude after all you two have been through. I can relate to quite a bit of this and I take great comfort in knowing in reality, there is much more if these situations around than we think. I wish you both everything and more and I support with buying the merchandise etc I can't wait to read the new book. I love the signatures (WSM X2) has a pretty cool ring to it. Finally!...I hope you two get recognised for the work and inspiration you have on other's. Keep it up lad's and all the very, very best! 💪💪🤜🤛👍👍🥰

My kids and I love watching videos of you both competing but that we wait for is the gems at the end when Tom meets fans, and usually kids he will take photos and give them a hug at the end. That's the legacy, Luke was talking about - both such inspirations, your Mummy Angel is just looking down on you both soo happy. Listening to Tom talk about his Mum, I can only hope that I can be that Mum for my unique neurodiverse kids❤🙏🙌

Ya big softies! Two fantastic role models and ambasadors as people and more so as men of the North. I've the utmost respect for both but as a big brother myself have a softer spot and empathy for Luke. I understand the highs and lows and ultimately the joy and pride when your "little" btother breaks through and becomes the person you'd always hoped they could be, have a great 2024 lads and all the family.
