    He doesn't "deserve" anything. He's a millionaire playing a game and at the end of the day it's a business. He's not worth the money the 5th year option demanded. If they work out a deal great if not let him walk and replace him with Warren and another day 3 draft pick or free agent. He's a good back but far from a special talent.

    I really enjoy Najee and i appreciate his game. I’m hopeful he balls out this year and gets the bag either with the Steelers or another team (in NFC of course). I didn’t initially agree with the decision but it is the right decision. Pay the linemen Good money and keep the RBs on rookie deals unless they prove to be special.

    Great breakdown DB our line really hasn’t been able to run outside zone because of Cole . Najee hasn’t been used correctly as we’ve seen at end of last two seasons the more you feed him the better he gets. If there’s no warren Najee’s numbers probably look a lot better and Najee is much better receiver then we give him credit for We have a good thing going with warren and Najee We are talking 7 million we are paying a punter almost 4

I know we made some notable additions with Elliot and Jackson and watts but I still think we need more CB help. Also was wondering what your thoughts were on acquiring Justin Simmons and how much he would cost us.

    Critics point to his average-to-low yards per carry, but opposing teams often stacked 8 in the box, with little fear of the passing attack. I'm disappointed he didn't get the 5th year contract. His effort and reliability needed to be rewarded.

  • @jwsteelers1

    @jwsteelers1

    Ай бұрын

    You don't reward effort at this level. It's not pop warner ball it's a business. This decision was smart and they can still sign him to an extension before September and likely will. If not they'll extend Warren

    Explain to me how you change your offense to a run heavy/first scheme and have no rb signed pass the upcoming season. They already need corner and dline help in 2025 draft, now they added 3 mor needs. Top 2 rbs, top 2 qbs, and top te all will be free agents in 2025. Make it make sense. 🤦🏾‍♂️

    Mike has aurrounded himself wirh smart ppl around the league idk how this year will go but one thing i expect to stop happening going forward is those super ugly losses to the great teams at least we will be competitive throught smart strategy .... not we going to run the ball an if they stop that were forsure losing buy 20 against the great teams

    This is a smart decision by the Steelers. Harris has been okay in his tenure and if all goes well with the oline this year, he should have a good season where he will have control of his destiny. The Steelers get to see if he is right for the new offense and Harris gets to run with a chip on his shoulder and earn his bag next year whether that's with the Steelers or not. No problem with this move whatsoever

  • @jaxboro
    @jaxboroАй бұрын

    It’s hard to pay a guy as a Top 12 back when he’s in a two-back rotation. I bet they get a contract done at a lower number before training camp ends if the fit in the offense is there.

    He doesnt play 3 downs because he doesnt block well and hasnt improved in that area. And if we run alot of zone schemes the RB vision is very important, and najee vision is very bad. Listen to our new ILB his 1st thing he said was he doesnt have to tackle james warren anymore. Never mentioned najee at all. and we all heard about najee leadership but that has died the past 2 years and especially last year. Cam hayward took exception to his comments at the end of the bills playoff loss. And wasnt voted as a captin last year. He is a good players but isnt worth 7 million a year. Khan and co havent made very bad decisions and i think this was a very smart decision. I still hope he kills it this year, but im more then happy to allow warren to be the man

    @@jwsteelers1no one looks at his skill set. He doesn't play 3rd down because his blocking is aweful. His vision is also very bad and with a zone scheme that is what you need. He isn't fast and also at times dances around way to much when he should hit a hole. Doesn't read blocks very well.

    I'm so tired of hearing " The first Player in Steelers history to gain 1000 yrds in 3 seasons. 17 games vs 16 games vs 14 games Whatever !!! We've had some good RB's Sidney Thorton the thundering Bull, Abercrombie. John “Frenchy” Fuqua, Frank Pollard, Barry Foster, Mendenhall , Merril Hoge, Willie Parker, Le’Veon Bell all 4 or 5 yrs and out Then there's Harris Blier and Bettis they were real backs and IMO Warren could be in that class. Najee albeit a good back would soon be forgotten as another steps in.

    The Steelers have roughly 20 MIL in Cap Space. Cut Holcomb and Herbig will save 8 Mil, then you will have 28 Mil in Cap Space. Go and Sign/Trade for DK Metcalf or Courtland Sutton, Sign Justin Simmons or Stephen Gilmore and Sign Calias Campbell. These additions win the Super Bowl.

    Not a fan of this at all. 6.8M would not be a lot compared to what he could be offered. This feels like they are going to cut ties...Hes almost always available and plays through his injuries. DL and RB are supposed to be stacked 2025, I can see those as our first two picks.

    Completely question Omar's roster building strategy. All these self-inflicted holes he's making or filling dont make ANY sense. Basically tells me we're definitely NOT competing for anything serious besides Tomlin participation trophies. Just somebody explain to me like im 10 yrs old... how does Khan extend Trubisky and Ogunjobi but says no to Najee? Positional value for a RB (after you just drafted 4 top picks on our OLine) should be pretty high IMO. Shxt doesn't make sense at all.

    Maybe you should throw your hat in the ring for GM so we can keep all your favorite players and pay them whatever they ask for and be 0-17 every year. Omar has done an outstanding job since taking over and getting rid of the mess Colbert left. And I will explain it like you're 10 since you clearly don't get how it works. Trubisky signed a 2 year deal in 2022. In 2023 it was "extended" in order to create cap space but not extended in the traditional sense that we kept him longer. Get it? He didn't extend Najee because RB's are a a dime a dozen. It was a huge mistake for Colbert to reach for a RB in the first round. Najee is a great guy and a good back and I'm sure they'll try to get a deal done before September. If not oh well.
