He had a bad case of script-esis. A case of time-to-die-to-move-plot that he sadly did not survive. I never did understand the scene as a kid. I too thought that he should have read the room. He just didn't realize that it wouldn't work this time because the person he was dressing down didn't give any more fucks and wanted to go out with a bang.

Call me a goofball, but I believe a lot of actors are part of secret societies and covens and whatnot. Some invite spirits into them to play a certain role. That's why people like Jim Carrey break down after a while. That's also why the parts can be played so well.
@TheRealSephiroth
Жыл бұрын
He broke down mentally because days beforehand he kept fucking up and getting his platoon in trouble over dumb shit because he doesnt know any better as hes mentally handicapped and one night everyone was tired of it and they strapped him to his bunk and waled on him with soap bars stuffed in their pillow casses probably fracturing his ribs in the process. In his pain he figured all out that everyone was in trouble will the drill sgt because of him and he became unhinged and stole live ammo from the supply shed to get back at the drill sgt for being an asshole and most likely didnt think his teamates were to blame he felt the drill sgt was going overboard with his tactics but somehow he still has a job. Pyle doesnt realize thats how drill sgts are supposed to be he thinks its just his and he hasnt ever been fired so he figured the only way to get rid of him is by murder but he still knows enough to figure out that even thats a bad thing to do in the aftermath and decides to off himself shortly after.

This is why drafting people is dangerous, for the most part people are going to eventually mature enough to endure discipline, but unfortunately some people break mentally where they may have a less than severe mental disorder that eventually worsens to the point of a psychotic break that might cause collateral damage 💔 ( I'm not saying drafting is wrong or right)

Vincent DiNafrio played the hell out of that part he doesn’t get enough credit for his portrayal of a recruit being broken and sent over the edge
Vincent D'onofrio burned his personality into my psyche with this role. Unforgettable performance.

What was truly remarkable to me about this scene was how when the sarge came in and found them both with all of his years of training and experience he didn’t have the common sense to read the room!!🤣☠️☣️
@JacobSantosDev

He had a bad case of script-esis. A case of time-to-die-to-move-plot that he sadly did not survive. I never did understand the scene as a kid. I too thought that he should have read the room. I think the DI was trying to 'talk' Pyle down in his DI way. He just didn't realize that it wouldn't work this time because the person he was dressing down didn't give any more fucks and wanted to go out with a bang.

Stanley Kubrick certainly knew how to make an iconic movie scene. 👍
Best ive ever seen in Acting. Vincent is a legend
That was a real creepy moment in that movie with a sad ending. He was bullied by the drill Sargent. Maybe was rediculed at school too.
Low key tho, imagine if Pyle was dropped into VC held territory with an M16, a Machete, and pistol, how many VC is he taking with him before being killed?

Call me a goofball, but I believe a lot of actors are part of secret societies and covens and whatnot. Some invite spirits into them to play a certain role. That's why people like Jim Carrey break down after a while. That's also why the parts can be played so well.
@TheRealSephiroth
He did it, he said the name of the movie!!! 😱

When you're trapped in a prison of your own innocence like me, and society demands sacrafice you either suffer with the knowledge of good and evil or you cause suffering with the lack of it
This is why drafting people is dangerous, for the most part people are going to eventually mature enough to endure discipline, but unfortunately some people break mentally where they may have a less than severe mental disorder that eventually worsens to the point of a psychotic break that might cause collateral damage 💔 ( I'm not saying drafting is wrong or right)
