I’ve said this many times but I’m gonna keep saying it your cinematography if that’s what you call it is absolutely awesome. The gold is very impressive but the whole experience of watching it is truly relaxing and enjoyable.

Awesome Damon thanks for sharing that with me. Sniping truly is an awesome way of finding gold and as mentioned much easier on the body I never do anywhere near as good when I pan and crevice above the water.

Can you imagine if you had stayed for 2or even 3 days. You’d be getting so much gold. Congrats to you Levi, from the California Grandmother. Hope you go back there. Get it all. Your wife must really be happy.

A young deposit geologically speaking, the last glaciers in Tasmania melted relatively quick 12,500 10,800 years ago.. I’m talking like a 3km thick ice sheet that was there for 50,000 years then melted in less than 3,000years, the amount of erosion that happens over that short geological timeframe wears down whole mountains not to mention isostatic rebound, the source could have been right there but now it’s just a deposit.. but that single ironstone piece🤔 tells me maybe 2 deposits overlapping... ohh great video ✌🏻

@@ilouse I live in Queenstown New Zealand & I am surrounded by massive past glacial activity that formed & molded my surrounding country side & glacial lakes. Ground smooth the flanks of the mountains & left massive terminal & lateral morainic material & boulder fields. All still very recognisable. Also responsible for the gold deposits that I find throughout Otago. Remnants of the dying glaciers still cling high up in the mountain valleys & hanging valleys. Their years defiantly numbered. I question your time frame as our glaciers last advance is put down as 18,000 years ago & then of course there were the years of melt. I would put our glacial period as younger than Tasmania & that yours would have melted away much earlier. I could be wrong. I often are. :)

@@JohnWilson-cs7iq you are correct the last glacial maximum was 18,000 years ago then the ice started melting slowly as they do now until the younger dryas impact 12,500-10,800 a series of impacts on the northern hemisphere ice sheets caused a global climate event.. Nz as well as Greenland didn’t lose their ice as much
