Jared is not only an asset to The Lions. He is a real gentleman and an asset to sports. Unlike some of these pampered divas, this guy keeps his mouth shut and goes to work,…a true Professional.

First Baker Mayfield and now Goff, as an NFL fan it's great to see these 2 finally getting the franchise commitment and financial respect that they deserve 👏🏾👏🏾

This really important to the Lions future. For one it shows the Lions know how to develop a team. Yes we have the hot young QB draft pick last year and much like very successful Packers, he;s going to sit and be developed for 3-5 years. Goff is young has such a connection with BJ don’t mess with that, yet. I have no doubt whenever the QB change is necessary MCDC will make. I believe that is years down the road. Congratulations to Jared for getting paid & Brad Holmes for getting it done. Now. Back getting the team ready to go for the tournament again. One Pride.

I must admit, I didn’t see Goff as that great out of college, when he made the Super Bowl with the Rams I imagined he might just be a flash in the pan like so many other Qbs. But when I saw him handle the Stafford trade, go to Detroit and just buy into the system, the city and the fans I was pleasantly surprised and really happy for Detroit. You have a great leader there! Congrats Lions!

​@@chriskay1449 detroit drafts well. Most of the talent is through the draft and are in their first contract. They don't really have any huge ticket free agents. They will be fine for a year or two. By then the cap will go up and our homegrown talent will hopefully re structure their huge contracts to keep the ball rolling. I hope lol

Goff is a good player, but definitely not someone a team is scared to play against. He got his bag. Good for him.

This guarantees the Lions will be competitive, but then also-rans once the playoffs come around. The only QB who has been worth a max contract has been Mahomes.

As a Lions fan I understand why they did that but it’s hard not to think this goes well.

You sound like someone who knows next to nothing about this team...

@@jeanloverme6466 no qb had been paid or even gotten close to 60 mill in average annual total. most of the top paid guys are getting around 45-55 but legit are only guaranteed to see a portion of that money. Herbert’s total contract is like 250+ but he’s still getting around 180 mil guaranteed. Same way with Lamar and Burrow. And those guys are on 5 (maybe more) year deals too. so there’s absolutely NO reason guys like jared goff or kirk cousins should be getting guaranteed the more if not a similar amount of money in 1 year less in the contract when they’re debatably not as promising as the top guys.

Who's Ben Johnson? Really? Detroit runs a Dan Campbell bacterized version of Rams Offense Jared Goff installed. The exotic run plays and jumbo packages are Dan's not Ben's who was only the TE coach in Miami w/Dan. Tanner Engstrand the Lions current Passing Coordinator will be a much better OC than Ben who's still learning on the job like Aaron Glenn.

Bears suck buddy but there's hope IF (big IF) Caleb Williams can pick up the Rams Offense new Bears OC Shane Waldron is installing. Geno Smith picked it up in Seattle under Waldron in only 2 years and has burned the Lions 3 years in a row in shootouts. Hopefully for you Caleb isn't another Russell Wilson who didn't pick it up and got shipped out. It should be an interesting year for you.

Goff and the Lions are 4-2 against the Packers and the only reason the Packers made the playoffs was because Aaron Jones came back and lit it up. He's gone and Josh Jacob's looked like crap last year. If anything Goff's deal helps Jordan Love get paid more from the Packers because he's probably up next.

When will teams learn??? Paying a QB this amount of money per year to a guy that can’t win unless everything is perfect around him is silly. Once you can no longer afford to pay for guys around him, he will be exposed.
