BREAKING: Isaiah Hartenstein SIGNING With Thunder | Latest Knicks Free Agency News & Rumors

Спорт

NY Knicks News: New York Knicks center, Isaiah Hartenstein, has signed a three-year, $87 million deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Hartenstein is coming off of a solid year with the Knicks where he averaged 7.8 ppg, 8.3 rpg, and shot 66% from the field. Hartenstein will be teaming up with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren, and Jalen Williams. Mark Daigneault and the Thunder have been aggressive in 2024 NBA free agency as this is their second big move after trading Josh Giddey for Alex Caruso on June 21st.

The Knicks free agency tracker has not been very active so far, but there’s still plenty of time for quality moves - and now, we need to start looking at Isaiah Hartenstein replacements. The Knicks roster is pretty thin at the position outside of Mitchell Robinson, who has also been linked to Knicks trade rumors since the offseason began. Now, Tom Thibodeau and company have a tall task replacing Hartenstein alongside Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges and the Nova Knicks.

Life is about making adjustments and that’s what the Knicks is have to do. Although young and still raw, the center Ariel that we drafted could develop into a IHart type player. To me he has potential and I’m sure the Knicks brass saw this in him as well. In my humble opinion, IHart developed into being a better player playing alongside Mitch. Sure, IHart is better at many things, but Mitch is a rebounding monster! Something that IHart didn’t have in him and he gained from being around Mitch. Hopefully after all these developmental years Sims can put it together this year. We have to utilize the lob threat more and I think the rookie point guard that we drafted can help us with this.

He can’t stay on the dam floor. 30 games out the season and no playoff play. "If Mitch can stay healthy", "When Mitch gets back", it's the same broken record every season regarding Mitchell Robinson aka Half A Season Mitch. He cannot be a reliable starting center anymore, he needs to come off the bench. He's hurting the team with being in and out of the starting lineup every season due to injuries. The Knicks now need to find a starting center and the choices for starting centers out there is slim pickings. Alot of Knicks fans are in denial about Mitchell Robinson like they were with RJ Barrett.

Mtich, when healthy, is an elite rim protector, possibly the best defender of Embiid in the league, and probably the best offensive rebounder in the league. If Mtich can play 60+ games and be healthy for the playoffs these next two years...and hit 60+ percent from the line, he'll get a bag as big as iHart did in a couple years. Bring Precious back. Mtich Precious and Sims is enough to get it done. Knicks could have the best defense in the league. Oh, and congrats to Hartenstein.

No, Mitch is NOT out there doing those things because he's hurt EVERY SEASON. Half A Season Mitch isn't a reliable starting center anymore. Availability is apart of your game as well. No point in bringing up all of Mitchell's abilities if he's in street clothes all the time. Why you think I call him "Half A Season" Mitch, that's all you gonna get from him.....half a season, if that. Mitch needs to come off the bench to preserve his body and the Knicks need to focus on getting a starting center. This is why people wanted Ihart to stay. Plus, now we need a center who can fit Thibbs system and won't hurt the teams chemistry.

OKC was offering 11 million more, if the Knicks were able to offer maybe 23-25, IHART probably would have stayed but they overpaid OG, a guy who barely played 2 months with the team due to injuries and is known for having injuries alot. We'll see if OG was worth that money and losing IHART in the process. OG and Mitch better play over 65 games this season.
