Breaking Ground on the New Bull Pen!

Every big project starts with the right preparation and this one is no different! Before I can start building my new bull pen I first need to clean out a bunch of things and tear down some others. Such is life on the ranch!

My parents always had a milk can in the house… the grandkids got to use it as an extra chair at the table.. good memories Your Grandpa’s trailer might make a good portable feeder for a couple of round bales. I have a 6x16ft tandem axle trailer that I have converted to a bale.feeder. It fits 3 large round bales or let’s me push the loose hay to the front then load two new bales in the back. The sides and the back I made 2x6 and 2x4 head stalls like your Grandfather’s original bunk line feeder. They let 14 cows feed around the trailer at one time and it works well for my small herd of 21 mouths And lastly THANKS for the content. Your videos are always the first ones I watch every week 👍🤠

It's fun watching you as you take on a new project with all the twists and turns involved in it's evolution. I knew you had to keep your grandpa's trailer; it's obvious how much he meant to you. When you look for critters, I always expect to see snakes. I guess it's because I have such a fear of snakes.

How about a theme for signage on the buildings that have been there longer than you can remember? I'd suggest a "Ye Olde" prefix and the name of the building, "Ye Olde Hog Barn" for example. "Ye Olde Hay Shed" for where you store your round bales sheltered etc. BTW yes, a milk can. We had several and a hand crank cream separator to go along with them.

I thought the square metal box that was hung on the gate could have been converted to a salt block feeder. It would be portable and able to be moved from pasture to pasture easily. You should consider taking it back off the scrap trailer.
