Laine is worth this. Take Laine and his contract for future considerations. That is the absolute most that he is worth at this point.

The only D i'd be happy with is Zeev Buium for Mtl's 5th pick. This guy, watch out, im literally certain he's gonna be the best dman of this draft in a few years. Catton, Demidov, Lindstrom, Iginla I'd be extremely happy with. Sennecke scares me a bit, i like the package, but he was only about a point per game this year in the OHL. Not necessarily the stats you normally see for a 5th pick overall. HOWEVER, he was an absolute beast in the playoffs...so I dunno ! Lol

I love Berkly Catton at 5 if Lindstrom is gone. We need speed and someone who can drive play in the Top 6 over size. We missed out on Cooley and Will Smith and now we finally got one. Yeah he’s 5’11 but we can take someone like Cole Beaudoin or Julius Miettinen with our 26th overall pick.

  • @maxpatenaude2115

I keep saying Catton is literally a mix of Will Smith and Logan Cooley. Has the hockey IQ/playmaking abilities of Smith, and has the hands/agility/speed of Cooley. Catton would be an exciting pick for sure. Playoffs wise, im not sure Catton has that Iginla/Lindstrom/Sennecke grit that take you to the next level.... Man I don't know ! Hard to make a pick

I would take tij iginla if demidov and lindstrom is gone. Id even consider taking him over lindstrom but maybe that's just me. What I keep hearing is he is a beast along the boards and I see that being the perfect fit with suzuki and Caufield. That way the habs can put slaf with dach again and they can build on what they started. Tij also has awesome skill and grit and if he is anything like his dad he has a ton of heart and could be a great leader.

There are a variety of D in this draft that are all valuable in different ways. If either want a D, one that fits what they are looking for will be there, but either or both could take a forward and I wouldn’t be shocked. That would complicate things for the Habs, so it’s probably going to happen! Lol

@@alexb2433 True, we seem to have a dressing room that everyone gets along really well, it would suck to have someone ruin that, or maybe he'd fit right in, and want to play his whole career there, who knows? I think he will end up there at some point in his career. I'll tell u one thing, (Ive been a Habs fan for 45 years), and it's nice to have some thing to look forward to! It's been so long since we have had a good team, we had great goaltending which took us pretty far, even to the promise land, with Roy, poor Price didnt get much support when he was here, but still managed to carry us to a final, in which we had no business even being in the playoffs! lol. But it's nice to have something to look forward to, id love to add Necas, and get Demidov in the draft!! I know that's a pipe dream, even Iginla, im a little iffy with Lindstrom with his recent injuries, the last thing we need is another injury-proned player! lol. But there's a lot of offensive talent available. Can't wait to see who we draft, and if we make a move and trade Wpg's 1st rounder for some talent right now. Go Habs Go!!! Stoked for next season already! With Hutson, Mailloux, Xhekaj, Guhle, Matheson, our D is pretty amazing, and will only get better. Sorry, im rambling, just excited, lol, later. 🙂

Sennecke is highly skilled. Has great hands, is deceptive, has good speed. KK had none of those things and was a horrible skater. KK rose because of he got hot at world juniors....not because he demonstrated projectable attributes and skills. It was a DUMB pick.

  • @HabsTypeBeat

KK wasn’t as talented but he had more projectable skills, a more projectile floor. Sennecke is a risky pick, long way in his development yet to go. Only 20 games of excellent play to go off.

Laine-Dach-Slaf Caufield-Suzi-Lindstrom Roy-Newhook-26th pick + Xhekaj-Beck-Tuch Mathesson-Reinbacher Ghule-Hutson Xhekaj-Mailloux Lineup going into next years draft. Our draft capital has us as upgrading our team now instead of drafting for later. Gally can play the role of dach(this year) that year and filling in when needed on 4th line. He could prove useful if we make playoffs. Picks to be used to make us better now. I like that team way more than past 10 years.

I don’t see there being a bidding war for Laine, with that contract and his stats over the last 3 years. But 100% if there is more interest than expected it’s not worth pursuing. The other 2 could easily see their value pushed with a bunch of teams wanting them and there is a point for each where a deal no longer makes sense.
