This is becoming one of my favorite channels on KZread. Really appreciate the honest reviews and detailed breakdowns of each bike with rider feedback and comments for each model. Sub'd. Keep up the great work Michael.

Fast FZ09 for real he isn’t getting paid to lie like he was at vital mx
This has been a great shootout! You're thorough and articulate small differences quite well, much appreciated!
MXA is foaming at the mouth after watching this video

Hi Michael, just wanted to say how excellent this series has been. You've helped me decide on the Honda as it seems to have the best characteristics for me, and the traction control system will be awesome here in New Zealand where it can get really slippery on trails, etc.
Great honest evaluations..the best shootouts
After owning 10,11,14 yz450f ,17 450sxf, 18 yz450f and currently 19 450sxf , I still faster more comfortable on a 50hp 09 yz450f . I'll empty my pockets on a new bike if they just made a comfortable light 450.
Hey great review. I think what you were getting at is; the engine character has a softer roll on which suits a high corner speed riding style...yet there are other bikes which are more stable for this kind of riding.
Light weight for fmx and free riding in the hills hands down kills all the Japanese tanks, so glad there is a bike like the Ktm that is made well with good response

@Moto two how so??? I know the TPI and pds wear on the bottom of the shock are issues but that's their enduro models haven't heard of any issues with the mx bikes

Jake Scott I agree to an extent but I think the Yamaha is the best bike this year statistically. I’m not even a Yamaha fan but based on these guys opinions on the bikes. It seems like it’s the best this year.
Awesome video, what foot pegs did you use on the husqvarna for the tall guy?
Wow, this is the best shootout ever done. Would love if you could do the same with the 250´s.
I didn't catch it (watching at work), but I was curious - you mention the intake adjustments (with the open panel), but did you try the bike with an open muffler? The KTM and Husky models have so much restriction with the stock mufflers that they feel very different to ride without taking that out or slapping a slip-on muffler on them. Odd that they are that choked up, but loving my 2020 FC 350 w/ the FMF muffler from my 19.

TripleT219 the US KTM has a different muffler than the Husky (world spec muffler) so it’s already missing one of the baffle/screens.
did you try to "fast" map during the shootout or leave it on the standard setting? just curious if this change would help improve the lazy motor feel

zackbremer1 we tried all mapping and airbox kid combos. The aggressive map helps a small bit but it’s not drastic.
Anyone played about with sprocket sizes to sort the sluggish low rpm feel?
@MichaelLindsay
4 жыл бұрын
Myles Nelson I’ve played with it after a bit, but it’s still mostly down to engine character.
Could you make the engine a little bit more aggressive by using an open air filter cage (without the mesh)?
@MichaelLindsay

m rossi that doesn’t effect the low end/roll on performance like we’re speaking of

@@MichaelLindsay so do you think mapping only could solve the problem?
could you put all bikes on a set of scales front and back at the same time this might explain where the weight is and explain some of the balance problems bike to bike Would be a good experiment

Michele Masters I did, I weigh them dry and full of fuel. That’ll be in a video next week.

Thanks Michael for all your hard work! I've been checking back each day & appreciate your in-depth reviews. It appears by purchasing all the bikes outright from the dealer, you've managed to beat all the other reviewers out of the gate via the shootout; so job well done, mate ! We appreciate it, and by checking back each day & having to wait just a little bit on each of your bike breakdowns, I'd say your timing methods are working out splendidly for keeping us all engaged! Thanks in advance. ~ Jefferson

Michael Lindsay Ha ha yes sir 👍 Thanks for these videos by the way......really enjoy your content. I will be checking in with you when it comes time to shop for a new bike.
Does KTM use Chinese parts?? I heard they did
ride by wire throttle coming next year to further destroy the comp
Mxa drool over the ktm every single year. Yet everyone else seems to not loose their minds over them. Mxa claims everyone else look pass the amazing clutch and breaks etc. But all the magazines I've noticed say it does have great breaks and clutch however the bike is sluggish etc
single cam engine how old school do you want

Michele Masters same as the Honda.
It's funny to me how much your guys talk about the seat-peg height when you think how KTM used to be known as a tall bike even for tall guys
they snap to life on the aggressive map lol
@MichaelLindsay

mobgma the connection and RPM build still isn’t what the riders were looking for, pretty much all of us spent 90% of our time on the more aggressive map.
So what you are saying you are very dissatisfied with the KTM and a very expensive machine too.
@MichaelLindsay

William Schuman it’s just very different at the moment, it has major positives but it’s different... and they’re all pretty expensive.
