It looked and sounded like Shaun 's paddle hit the ball that then went out and their body language seems to confirm that he and David lost. Really enjoyed the game and analysis.

Thanks for watching and commenting Carla. Rahul confirmed here the comment section that he and Sushant lost the point, but I’m with you the body language of all four players is really hard to read. I think they were just exhausted.

David and Shawn , in my guess, were agonizing , not rejoicing, freeze the frame and take a look, they lost,. Magnificent rally! thank you

It was either that or the birth of a giraffe. Tough choice.

Shaun, when he is on the even side, protects the line by getting almost all the way to thel sideline. Because he is a righty, does he have to get that close to the line? If he extends his reach his paddle will be way outside the line.

Nice catch, Randall! I was just going over this very scenario with a student of mine a few days ago. No, you don’t have to hug the line that tightly, so long as you’re mentally keyed in on protecting your assignment. Thanks again for your continued support!

Alex, when all 4 players are at the line what paddle position do you perferL 12 o'clock , 11 or 10?

This would depend on which shots my opponents have available to them, but I believe you’re referring to a completely neutral situation. As you know, I’m a big proponent of the two-handed backhand, so I always have that ready as my default. I’m usually at about 11 o’clock, but if my assignment is forehand (line or middle) I’m often closer to 1 o’clock, while still ready with my two-hander. Hope this helps!
