This song is so hauntingly beautiful (at the end, the back-ground singing brings me to tears every time). I am almost 50 now and have been listening to rock music ever since I can remember. I do not think that any of the bands that have came out has really grabbed me by my soul strings like these folks have, so thanks Breaking Benjamin for filling my life with music that I can relate to. This song is a part of me.

If you guys say you almost cry listening to this song, I have something else that will make you cry. He said that most of the songs he makes, he is under the influence of alcohol. There is only a handful of songs where he is sober. He is getting a lot better though

Loving someone so much that you would go through hell and sacrifice your own life and happiness, and numb yourself to be the person they need you to be for them. Although psychology will tell you this is unhealthy and tell you to love yourself first. I think there's a loophole here, you can love someone so much that it destroys you but you continue to fight and swallow your pride for them everyday. Even though they can kill you with certain vices, you know deep down there's a good person under all that pain. Numb out the bad, leave the bullshit behind but if I have to go through it, it's for you. To me, that is unconditional love.

For the past 5 years of my life I have dealt with so much loss and later on became depressed. It didn't get much worse until last summer when someone I was really close to passed away right in front of me. From then on I have never been the same. So I started locking myself away in my room in isolation listening to all these songs which I was able to relate to about the way I felt. So I thank Breaking Benjamin for writing these songs because it has help me cope with all of this loss in so many ways.

I love the ambiguity in Ben's songs. His songs seem to be about a simple theme like a relationship or a mishappening. But if you'll give a closer attention to what he's trying to convey, it'll bring tears to your eyes. When I first listened to this song I thought he is talking to a girl and wants her to get over the relationship because he was being so toxic. But this plot was not fitting in completely with the lyrics and I gave it another try. What he actually wants to say is that his hands are broken which means even if he try he can't get out of his addiction and he wants us (the listner) to promise him that we'll try our best to get a better life. He says that he has already elected hell by choosing drugs and lived his life like it was for granted and he wants us not to become like him. He wants people not to repeat the same mistakes that he did. The YOU in this song is not a girl or his family member. It's actually you.

Such a confessional, heartfelt song. Ben was living life the wrong way, and he was forced to suffer the consequences. Now that he’s sober, he is encouraging others that are experiencing his troubles to turn back before it’s too late.
Lying to myself......
I could Listen to the band for the rest of my life.

This song stood out to me on this album. No its not allowed to leave my playlist... Neva! lol
Love it keep on rockin
