Breaking Benjamin makes some of the most heart felt music I swear. This, dear agony, breath, and ashes of eden all have so much emotion that so many can relate to. We need more of this. Personally I feel that music like this has humbled me in my life.

My buddy Brian died around the same time this album came out. I never heard this song before his death. He came to me in a dream the night before his funeral and I heard this song in the background of my dream. He told me to play this song for his sister and his parents to help them let go. I didn't get it, but I complied with his wishes and they all said it made them feel better afterwards. This song will always have a major soft spot in my heart because of that. I still have a tough time rationalizing all that shit.

This music is what helped me through the hardest times in life, losing my soul mate almost 2 years ago unexpectedly after 10 short years almost completely broke ME, and Music was something that to this day helped me get through my lifeless days..Forever Grateful and much love for this Band

There isn't a single song of BB without meaning, but this one is the saddest, most touching song i have ever heared. Perfect to soothe the pain for all of us who have lost a loved one. It freshens up the pain a little but brings back a lot of nerely lost memories.

I've always listened to Breaking Benjamin. They helped me thru a very sad, hard ,long 5yr divorce. We we're together n married for over 24yrs.We have 4 beautiful children together. Now he is dying from Stage 4 lung cancer. He never smoked, drank, done any drugs his whole life. Worked ALWAYS from the day he found out we we're having our first born. He is already in Hospice care now. I'm still with him til the end. Even after our divorce, our marriage vows we're for better or worse. This is the WORST thing I've ever had to go thru. My wife also passed away with lung cancer, never smoked. We were married 39 yrs., she was 58. She died on all souls day ( Dec. 12. Her birthday was dec. 31). I miss her so much

My mom passed away last September and every time I hear this song I think about her she was amazing she beat breast cancer then the chemo and radiation messed her Kidneys up and she got put on Dialysis and she made it for two weeks after that I miss her so much yes this is her profile

The reason this song resonates is because we all have lost someone in our lifetime some mean more than others I lost my girl in 2018 over an overdose this song has given me strength to move forward when I didn't think I could I'm an individual that needs to go through my emotions to get past the pain it still hurts but this song helps me remember her thanks guys for listening to me vent

It's 2023 both of my grandparents have died in the course of 3 years. With my grandfather dying first in 2019 and my grandmother dying in 2022. I think about that when listening to this song. the hospital stay in this video reminds me of when my grandfather was in hospice. God let my grandparents RIP. Pop and rap atleast before the 21st century had deep meanings, some now still do but thanks to the corrupt music industry those two genras were turned into cash cows making it hard to find the good ones out of the pile of trash

I cant listen to this song w/out thinking of my brother. He died of a brain aneurysm back in in the fall of 2010 that he got when he mixed too much booze w/his anti depressant pills and he never woke up. I try my best to make him proud and so far I like to say that I have. Here's to you CPJ love you forever!

I heard this today at work. I couldn’t stop listening. In 90 I lost my fiancé ( suicide)2005 my wife died, leaving my 5 yr old son. In 2016 my daughter past. This song touched all those places. I’m a musician finally with a song I can sing to my loss.

This song reminds me of when I lost my father. Another masterpiece from Breaking Benjamin . I've been listening to these guys since I was really really little. I'm going on 17 right now . I lost my father in 2015 . 2016 has been so hard without him. I remember when I first heard these guys. I was like I said really really little and I had my moms portable CD player in my hands with her puffy head phones kinda like earmuffs . I was walking around the fence in my front yard just listening to their very first cd over and over again. I fell in love with the lead singers soothing voice and the way he is a master with crescendo and decrescendo . His voice still sends shivers down my spine . I have to say that Dear Agony is my absolute favorite song by them now. These guys have come a long way and I've been listening to them throughout mine.

This song makes me think about my mom and dads death, they were just lying right there in front of me on the hospital beds, me and my two brothers Jayden and Jai(we're triplets) were holding our parents hands as we all said our last goodbyes to them. this real touches my heart. reminds me of when I lost my grandfather's when I was 8 and 10. then in the past 6 years lost five friend's. 4 of them in the past 2 years. Makes me realize how much of a happy fun person I use to be and how much I miss them all. this song really hits a hard place for me in my heart.

Having been to so many funerals, i lost count. Having been a cemetery undertaker and caretaker you get a new appreciation for the business of death. I have become so numb to it, i didn't cry when my grandma, great-grandma, great-grandpa, great-great-grandma died just to name a few.

i remember hearing this song for the first time. about two years ago, i started to listen to this album from BB. it was a couple of weeks after my dog Shep died when i heard this song. Shep was one of the closest pets I've ever had and after listening to this song i couldnt hold back the tears. every single lyric hit me home. because of this song, for the rest of my life, i will never forget one of my closest friends Shep. thank you, Breaking Benjamin, for all of the music you've created

I first heard this song by chance here on you tube, my nan had sufferd with dementia and she passed jan 2010. 2 days later this song came up as I was scrolling through so I played it and I cried so much. The day my nan passed I was with her at the hospital and I said to her 'go be with grandad' and as I was holding her and she slipped away in my arms. This song reminds me of that time and I still cry when ever I hear ' there is nothing left of you I can see it in your eyes' as the dementia took her away. Love and miss you always nan xxx

I think in this case the "you're dead alive" is reference to the fact that even though someone may still be alive, they have had a loss that hurt them so badly they feel dead inside and barely realise they are still living, because that person feels like that there is no point living anymore

I believe its the movie "Raise Your Voice" with Hilary Duff from several years back. Doesn't really hold up to This particular song tho at all, nor do Breaking Benjamin any justice for what it's worth... for the video aspect, this song fits for This particular subject for this movie (which is a more of just a Subplot in the movie, but its Not what the movie is about.) This is a Great song though either way! Hope this info helps!

thanks! really thanks! this video really matches the song and it doubled the emotion by the way the new Breaking benjamin album is coming. the new single "failure" was so awesome! I wonder how benjamin's voice and song writing still remained the same after many years!

Breaking Benjamin never fails to put awesome music such as this in a heartbreaking moment listening to this makes me think of my dad who died in Afghan last year :"(
