If you ever tried tutoring high school students and you think you've got everything super easily spelled out for them only for them to say something incredibly stupid, you'll know how Walter White would have felt. Still, if they were smarter, you wouldn't be getting paid like $40/hour to teach math.

Absolutely agree ! This small acknowledgment is the reason why I absolutely Breaking Bad. Small cues like this show the essence of humanity and how we yearn for acknowledgment towards people we look up to. Lmao, I might've went too much in depth with this, but it's the small things that make up a good show into a GREAT one. Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston make up the anode & cathode of the series, where Vince Gilligan is the electrolyte.

So true, Jesse is like back at school this moment, just after having this "good point" when Walt asks for the "particular element" they should use, you see he's desperatly searching a good answer to keep the performance in Walt's eyes, trying to get hints (Walter tries to help him by showing), and then he's just happy to come with the answer (wiiiire!!), once he's mistaken, he's just so embarassed to disappoint his teacher who was for once aproving. Such a good acting indeed.

Jesse was a dumb junkie sidekick who couldn't handle the amount of kicking the badass Heisenberg was dealing. Hence why Jesse was necessarily manipulated into doing the rational things. Jesse couldn't keep up with Walt, that's why their relationship went south at the end.

Why would Walt expect Jesse to know? He had first-hand knowledge of Jesse's utter lack of aptitude, he did flunk him after all. To this point, Jesse gave him no indication of having absorbed anything he attempted to teach him... Walt's disappointment, was understandable on an emotional level, yet completely unwarranted on a practical level.

Well if the teachers just rely on lecturing alone then the students are going to end up on cloud nine. Students will learn more from chem labs than lectures. Same thing goes for other subjects. For example in my experience I had two business classes one in high school taught by a teacher who was funny and I liked but the only thing he does is talk. Plus I didn't have an iPhone then but I still ended up daydreaming. In college I have a business class taught by a professor who uses groups as well as lectures. He encourages us to work on franchises we like.

You're absolutely right, I'm a chem teacher myself. In a 45 minute class, I only spend about 10 minutes doing explicit instruction. The rest is a mix of discussing phenomena as a group, students doing practice work, or lab work. Honestly on lab days I do almost no instruction. Students tend to like my style, and when they ask why I teach this way, my response is "well you're more likely to remember something you did than something I said."

It’s kind of amazing how all the knowledge that we’ve slowly collected over time as humans is available to all of us, but a true genius is guy like Walter who can harvest that knowledge and critically use it. Someone at some point figured out about the concept of the battery, as Walt is explaining, but most of us don’t know about it because it’s just a part of our daily life in the form of a simple battery. Smart people take the collective knowledge we have and push us further in our knowledge with things they figure out on their own. This is why education is so important and every person should be able to go to school affordably because brilliant people like this, who sharpen their intellect through school is what could push us into further areas of discovery. We are really setting ourselves back by allowing higher educated to be so expensive.

After googling, looks like thin wire has a higher resistance which results in the heat dissipation I'm thinking of. That being said, short high current is probably okay, so its just a question of much resistance. And that, I have no idea offhand. Does look small.

This reminds me of my tutoring sessions where my tutor would lecture on this one huge topic for 10min. Shed then ask me a question relative to the topic she presented while gesturing that the answer is so easy that she basically handed it to me. I then would have that look of satisfaction trying to notify her that i know the answer when i actually dont while releasing "ooooooooh...". Then shed smile and give me the answer thinking that i understood, but in actuality i was dozing off, day dreaming about what to cook for dinner. Ahhh im getting ptsd
