Breakfast to Dinner at Our Off Grid Cabin | Michigan
Spend the day with us at the Cabin! We'll take you along with for our entire day, from breakfast all the way to dinner and everything between. We have one big project to get off the list during this trip, and we'll tackle that today. It's so dry, we aren't allowed to have any open fires, especially the types we like to have burning brush.

When we finish a project we always stand back and admire our work. Every time you go to the outhouse you can sit down and admire your hard work!

Hahaha! I see what you did there 😂
Sorry, I was laughing hysterically when Todd said “This is going to be the best outhouse ever!” You totally deserve to be impressed with all the hard work you both put in.

After hand-digging that hole for 2+ hours it better be the best one ever 😀
I live here. Interesting that it's a getaway for others
I wish there were a "love" button to push! You work hard but make it look so easy. I loved watching this episode! Thank you for sharing your days with us!!
I love the off grid cabin videos! To me they are second to canning and cooking videos! ❤ also, love how y’all added weep holes to the big tube 😉
Hey friends we love watching yawl at the cabin. Like the way you put holes in the pipe, 🤠 God Bless.
The hummingbird sound was so cool! Y'all are so blessed, take care. I hope y'all have a great vacation.
Rachel was out cutting dirt with the lawn mower. LOL.

I live in the woods, so mowing dirt is part of woodland life 😂.
I kind felt like I was on a mini vacation with you. Thanks! I needed that.
Your weep hole method!!!😂 I am deceased!😂😂😂😂
That looks a lot more fun than using a drill to get holes!!!!!!😂
I love how you perforated your pipe.
Oh so peaceful. Enjoy your vacation
I almost fell asleep watching this, The peaceful sounds around your cabin and your creek sounds are great . Now that's a vacation !
Great idea with the culvert. U know company’s will come and clean the outhouse ..
I could not love more your target practice method of putting holes in the culvert for drainage. Made me smile at the cleverness and it's good to always practice your shooting skills! I hope you enjoyed your vacation, it sounded perfect to me. Todd needs to find a second kit of fishing equipment to leave at the cabin😊

i plan on bringing all my fly fishing gear, and just leaving it up there. Don't use it but once a year or so back at home.
My husband and I don't see eye and eye on everything...but we are closest and get along most when we are in the garden or when we are building something together. Couples are supposed to help one another, as you two model so well!
Oh...such a fun way to put in holes!!! LOVE IT!
Absolutely beautiful! I was with you all just enjoying the peace and quiet. So relaxing! Thank you
I grew up using an outhouse. It had two seats, i had a great childhood, wonderful memories
I love your method for creating holes. That's how my husband and I would have done it.
I love this! This seems so peaceful.
Love love seeing your adventures at the cabin!
What a wonderful day. Thanks for sharing while you’re on vacation. Loved the outhouse project. So resourceful. 👍
What a beautiful space you have!!
Keep an extra rod reel and fishing tackle at your cabin very beautiful cold stream should be able to do some awesome fishing very beautiful surroundings will definitely refresh and renew the soul
So nice and peaceful ❤❤
Have a wonderful vacation 🙏🏽♥️
Looks like a fun relaxing weekend
Enjoy your vacation! 😁
Love the hole making tool !
What a beautiful vacation spot. Enjoy
Thanks for sharing your time with us.
You did a GREAT job on the outhouse.
What a great idea!
Good to relax im sure
I need an off grid cabin! Thanks for sharing your time with us.
I just found you two searching canning videos, and I love your channel!! I look forward to see what you bring to all of us!!😊
Love cooking on the grill
I love breakfast for supper!
It's so beautiful and peaceful at your cabin, I bet it smells so fresh too
What an amazingly beautiful get away home
God is reminding us to enjoy his creation for us 🙏 ❤️
thanks for taking us along to your paradise, Michigan is a great place to relax and vacation. I envy your cabin, even if you must carry up the water!
The job you did on the outhouse was great. Your cabin looks like a great pass to decompress. Thanks for making the video. Look forward to your next ones.
Cabin time is always a treat. Local meats are great! I'm glad to find little shops to try while I'm out & about.
Love the outhouse. Wish my granny had a nice one when I was visiting there for summer.😅😅
You are going to have so much fun this summer you won't ever want to garden or can again!
Hello! I just want to thank you for starting me off on my canning journey a few years ago. God bless!
That's one of the most fun ways to put in weep holes.😊
Glad you got away to relax some. Weather in Northeast Connecticut was nineties last week and forties and fifties this week. 🥶
Excellent Video! Full of interesting content! I love the blonde sand there. Amazing how much of that sand is there.
We do the outhouse “bucket” system at our cabin, but with one weekend, it’s full. This is a great idea
My dream❤ thank you for letting me be part of your day
Great video. I use the Farm Dust too. We put it on almost everything...Mrs.Steve
I love time at the cabin. I feel like I’m there
I really love when you go to camp even when you work, it never felt like work to me, just one of the things you'd do while camping. I live it with you vicariously. Camping has always been 1 of my favorite things to do. I miss it very much.
Man…nice job on the Outhouse! Really nice…
That piece of tubing you have left you can use as a raised bed for herbs. 🌿🌱❤️
9:25- were going to add some weep holes! lol I guess you are! Caught me totally by surprise :)
ENJOY! :)
Maybe some simple more upright cart with bicycle style wheels for hauling water up the hill? I have not seen anyone do it yet, but what about a small solar pump that does a small trickle all day?
Beautiful place
My grandfather had a pocket reel he took everywhere. May need to invest in one of those 😂.
Looks nice there
If you rehydrate with warm water and put in the fridge. I do them the night before, shake shake shake, every time you walk by the fridge. That’s my tip 😊 Great job on that outhouse!! Looks like perfect teamwork 🌺
Hi there from Brighton Michigan
Now that sounds like a good t-shirt slogan: "Sometimes you have to mow your forest." 😁
I've missed you❤
Thank you for sharing. I love the stream tgars where i would be
That's the most bad ass way to add weep holes ever. Your property looks so peaceful and serene, beautiful place.
Wowsers. Where do you both find the energy!!! Homestead at the main home - so much to do..And then a cabin in the woods, where you have to do even more again"

@@1870s You know what. Many people who keep "toiling in the garden" as they age seem to stay fitter, healthier an younger than their counterparts who do not. Remaining active is key. And you two must be rushed off your feet!!! Great set up. Really enjoying the videos from across the pond in England... :)
Beautiful 💚🌞
Hi Rachel and Todd😊
It's like your own private world when you're there.❤
If you fall into an outhouse, you could be there for many moons 😅 that was my grandpa's joke.
I would skinny dip by the creek and wash up there 😂😂😂😂
Freeze dried Eggs is 1 tbsp. Eggs to 2 tbsp. Water to reconstitute.
A very nice upgrade to the out-house which should add several years to it's longevity. What was the seasoning you added to the eggs? Thanks
I look forward to your videos, especially when you're at the off grid cabin. What was the dust you sprinkled on your eggs? I thought I heard farm or parm dust. I saw that you use steak dust on the burgers. I'm always on the look out for new seasonings to try. Have a great little vacation at the cabin!! Love from California, Sam

Enjoy🇺🇸❤️
I hope Todd was ok. He is such a hard worker. I was wondering if he charges to teach other men? LOL!
Holy Hannah!
I remember hearing a guy tell me that at their summer cabin they would spend all summer there and the last thing his mom did before they packed up, she would open 2 pkgs of yeast and dump them in the outhousee. In the spring they would come back to an empty outhouse. The yeast actively ate what was in there. I have no clue is that was true and I can't remember who it was and the fact that it's been decades. Anyway... may be worth a try to experiment??
Did I hear them say I slept in till 8 o clock? Bless your Hearts 💕 I Wish

Yup, at home we're up much earlier.
2 tbsp egg to 3 tbsp water
Do more of those. Looks like a Glock, classic square top frame; recoil light; probably 9mm. - The better bear repellant. Now that you have blueberries by the cabin. Always keep a cheapie fishing rod set and some tackle at the cabin. That’s where those $25 Zebco rod and real sets come in handy. They work.

Do you guys have hummers at the cabin? have you seen them at your house yet? Im near Detroit Metro Airport and they have not made it to my house.

That brings back a very fond memory of mine. Yrs ago bowhunting In colorado, we reluctantly bathed in cattle tanks that were fed with mountain water. One commented afterwards, those goose bumps sprang the dirt right off of us, and he was right! But we were thankful for the cleanse.
I’m guessing you’re getting a composting toilet!
