So I saw the movie the other day and finally figured out why Andrew got all crazy when he smoked up. It's cause he never actually reacted like that. It was all in Allison's head. She never joined the spliff session and was a bit stunned when Andrew did at the last minute. The whole sequence of him going ape shit was just her imagining how the weed might affect him (her being innocent to the effects of pot). If you watch the scene in it's entirety it ends with his scream fading into the original cut of her with the same shocked expression on her face as when he first got up to go smoke.

And “the weirdest” of them all ended up being the strongest for not falling into temptation. That’s a good lesson from that scene.

I just realized how Bender is probably having fun for the first time in a while :') this poor baby deserves so much

+Cliff Trainor I read that there is an unreleased cut scene showing what Allison is doing when everyone is smoking. She locks herself in the audiovisual tiny room, hugs herself and hums the song "My Life". The scene was improvised by the actress and was quite emotional that it made some of the cast and screw members cried on set. Somehow it never ended up in the movie.

It wasn't a real scene, it was all in Allison's head because she wasn't there to join them so she just imagined how they would react. At the end of the scene the jock breaks the door by screaming, which obviously can't happen.

I gotta say, a lot of people are hating on Claire, but I never thought she was so bad. She had her moments of arrogance, yes, but so did the other teenagers. She was even nice to them most of the time, like when she comforted Brian about being a virgin.

I remember when this movie was first released on Betamax back in the 80s! Watched it 7 times in a few days. Such a classic.

You can use a strike anywhere match and dry your teeth out the best you can and it’ll strike pretty easily. Can’t say I’d recommend trying, though lol.

A funny one had on Monday Brian get to school and spot the room where everyone smokes pot. Against his friend's advice, Brian goes in and tries to buy a joint from Bender who sends him away. However the rest of the Club show up as he leaves and they end up toasting with joints to the Breakfast Club.

It's funny because Emilio Estevez was doing more than weed at this point in his life.

Also kind of weird because you realize that this movie came out in 1985 (according to what I have read. I was born in 1980 so have no memories of that movie) and the year prior in June Taylor was born. I remember reading in Martin and Emilio's book Along the Way that it was just prior to when Emilio ended taping "St. Elmo's Fire"
