Breakfast at Winscar with the Triumph Bonneville T120.

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Since I was already up early, I decided to ride my Triumph Bonneville T120 out to Winscar Reservoir and have breakfast by the waterside, to the sound of morning birds.
And very nice it was too.

    Hi Matt, I cam across your channel by chance; and I’m really enjoying it. I moved away from the outskirts of Huddersfield nearly 20 years ago; and so it was good to see you riding through Holmfirth Town centre 👍🏻 I’ve just bought a Speed Triple from Youles in Manchester; and they’ve been great. Take care 😊

    Glad you like my clips, such good roads around here, hope you have some similar where you are now. Also hope Youles continue to be good for you, they’ve been a bit rubbish for me since I bought my bike, they were brilliant right up until I gave them a load of cash 😁

  • @SBKPete

    @SBKPete

    Sorry to hear about the poor service from Youles. The guy who sold me the bike, rang me up and asked me to give him a score of 9 in the Triumph survey, that they had emailed me (bloody cheek). He certainly wasn’t worth a 9; as they’d forgotten to add an accessory that I’d ordered and paid for. As a result, I ended up not filling their survey in 🙄

    Well everyone loves a trier 😁. I wouldn’t use them again, they’ve had their chance with me but I don’t imagine they care too much. On the plus side it made me find a new local bike garage who I’d much rather give my money too.

    Great video and love the bike. I’ve got a T100 and was wondering what tail tidy/lights you’ve fitted as I want to keep the rear fender but change out the indicators to clean it up a bit like yours. Thanks.

  • @ClassicRides

    @ClassicRides

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks dude. All I did to the rear was to take off the high part of the grab rail and fit some Motone bullet indicators in place of the originals. I needed to drill the holes in the sides of the light housing a little bigger to make the indicators screw in, then I used a second M10 nut on the indicator threads so I could adjust and lock off how far the indicators stuck out. But that’s it, really simple job.

    Just discovered your channel. Congrats on the video. Really enjoyed it. I’m based in the North East and ride the Pennines and the Cheviots. Our roads and backdrops are very similar. I’ve subscribed and will be viewing the early vids when I can. You’ve made a number of mods to the bike that interest me. The Hagen shocks and the number plate are both items I’ve considered. Your thoughts on those would be most appreciated!

  • @ClassicRides

    @ClassicRides

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for the kind words G Mac 7. The Hagon shocks are great, they not very expensive and are made to your weight, totally transforms the back of the bike as it now feels really planted. I think they really suit the bike much better than the originals and they're also much more comfy. The numberplate is obviously totally illegal, but I've been followed by a few police cars and never had any trouble, I imagine if you give the police a real reason to pull you over, they'll throw the plate in the write up as well, but on it's own I think you'd be unlucky to get pulled for one. For me I just wanted to take as much colour out of the bike as possible, so the big yellow billboard had to go (until MOT time).

    @@ClassicRides Thank you for the reply. You’ve made my mind up on purchasing the Hagons. I agree and they’re very much in keeping with that late 50’s styling. I’ve also been looking at the Fournales Air Twins but they’re over £500 for the pair. I think I’ll also take the chance with the plate,; again more in keeping with the style of the bike. Good luck with the channel. I’m now subscribed and I’m now with you on your journey. No doubt I’ll have more questions, particularly on your choice of video kit, editing software, shooting techniques etc. Keep it shiny side up dude and thanks again for the reply.

  • @ClassicRides

    @ClassicRides

    3 жыл бұрын

    I got it off eBay, it’s just a non branded 5inch lamp, possibly off a Harley as I’ve seen similar ones on them. For the wiring I bought a good quality pre-made auxiliary light loom which goes from the battery to a fuse, then to a relay, then under the tank to the light. Then for the switch, again just a generic one from amazon that mounts on the handlebar and takes a draw from the auxiliary socket wire, then goes back under the tank to the relay.

    Hi Willy, so glad you like the video. The bags are a pair of Kriega Duo 36's, they're a really good option if you live somewhere where it rains a lot (I do) as they're fully waterproof. The tyres are Pirelli MT60RS, they don't do the exact same size as the original tyres, but you can go up one level in width and they'll still fit ok. These tyres are brilliant in all conditions in my opinion and well worth changing to. Looking forward to seeing what you do with your Bonny.
