So instead of using the torch as a torch he used it to light lighter fluid....

the lighter fluid burns and heats up before the rebar just blowtorching the rebar would let fetty get it red hot or atleast hot enough to easily bend and or snap the metal

@JaysonSR that's what I was thinking as well but also a other major flaw would be the tank size. No way he would get more than 1 or 2 bars melted. Those torches last a while but getting steel to a melting point takes a while too when using that specific torch. All I'm saying is given the best case scenario it was still impossible. Next time he needs to bring something highly corrosive. I think that could at least get it weak enough to snap it.

he had a propane torch. all he had to do was heat it up to make it soft enough to bend. using the lighter fluid was a waste of time because it's not very hot. put the torch itself right on that metal

Not necessarily true. Welds are going to be as strong, or stronger, than the rest of the surrounding metal. Unless the welds were not done well.

They should focus on skating skills, for durability test, rather than uncivilized manner.

Easiest way to win: drive to a hardware store and buy a hacksaw. Not a power tool and even though it's not ideal for cutting through that rubber gum shit you've got 30 mins. More than enough time with a hacksaw

@@pedronabais1456 We use bolt cutters to cut through cast titanium at work, cutting through rebar shouldn't be hard if he used the blowtorch to soften the metal. what he was doing was straight up dumb "Oh hurr durr i throw concrete at it and jump on it"

shoulda used jet fuel amiright but seriously as an actual blacksmith, can say he wouldnt have broken it lol there are rebar cutters that arent a power tool tho, so go.. rent one? yeah he could have gone down to the shops and rented one in half an hour, but yeah, the blow torch would take longer than 30mins to heat up the rebar, and to hit it with the pickaxe enough to cut it, its just propane, not even MAP gas

@DeviouS yes but I don't know if they have liquid nitrogen or something like that around within 30 minutes that's why I figured we make the steel more pliable and then introduce shock with a sharp edge to take advantage of that increase in playability

Actually, if you heat steel that has carbon in it to a reddish temperature, then quench it with a lot of cold water it will become tempered, just like they thought, brittle. The problem is that they probably didn't get the rebar hot enough, and didn't cool it down fast enough either. The problem though is that the metal will actually be really hard even though it's brittle, but at least it would have a chance to snap.

deleted Linex is heated to around 150-160 at the machine and after the isocyanate and resin mix it bumps to 220-240

Linex a lithe carbon fiber hybrid board. Remember fetty didn't chip one because it has the polymer around the ends. It would still actually be a practical board.

Watching this skateboard getting so brutally hit again and again is making my back heart for some reason...

if he had made it more flat with the ground when hitting it and focused on one bar at a time it would have been better. it was bouncing off the ground too much when he hit it with the pick ax. he could have used the torch on one point of the bar till it was red hot then hit that spot it could have worked.

Heat it to cherry red with propane torch, use gloves and bend it back and forth till it fatigues. Or if there is a iron workers hammer and a cold chisel around, heat to cherry and use the chisel to cut right through it. Steel turns into a noodle with heat.

if you cool down hot metal quickly with water it just becomes even harder because the hot metal will harden due to the cold getting in to the metals elemental core and then react with the changing environment

im thinking that the best way to approach destroying this deck, would be with some liquid nitrogen and a 2 pound sledge hammer. cold steel gets brittle and should crack or possibly shatter depending on how much nitrogen you use and how you choose to apply it. ps been a big fan of the series for the past 2 year; this channel(mainly you make it we skate it) honestly got me back into skateboarding. It compelled me to build some ramps and buy a new deck and build a few contraptions of my own thank you all so much

For future reference the welds might break first. OR use the torch to get the steel glowing then use the pick axe.
