Congrats on your achievement. I received my purple belt in October of 2018. My best advice to you is to be ready for people to start coming after you. Your blue belt days are over. That purple belt puts a big target on your back, especially when you might visit other gyms. A lot of people are going to want to test you. I train at a Royce Gracie affiliated gym and one of his black belts that I got a private session in with gave me that advice. I didn't understand him at first but now I know what he meant. It's only going to make you better in the end. Purple is royalty. Best of luck on your Jiu Jitsu journey. 🤙🏽

Roy is definitely one of the most cerebral and communicative instructors out there. One of the best breakdowns I've seen on a position. Thanks for sharing this and looking forward to more of your videos.

Great video, I applied this technique at our gym after watching this video. Immediate succes! Seeing the breakdown of techniques on video sometimes makes it easier to absorb than it would when being explained right in front of you. This channel helps me step up my game so fast, it's just amazing. Thank you.

Roy, have you played with swimming the arm-in to the outside? How do you find that works with your build? My old professor, Tony Passos, was a big believer in that variation.

I told my ex wife I’m married to Judo & Ju Jitsu, Therefore I don’t miss you nor do I want to kiss you, I’m a golden king cobra & silencers hiss thru, When I was sick blue, Nothing but bad luck was on the menu, When the money pile high above my eye I won’t be able to hear you, I’m starring at the world thru my rearview, Sensei makes it simple, Just follow instructions, My Qarin keep reminding me of corruption, Nights with knights playing with our life we were the gladiator type, The authorities disliked, Be quiet ‘cause the pigs be quite by the strife, Boy a youngster was by the dumpster flipping white, All my women betrayed me for things like Gucci & ice, Shoestrings like Louie & motor bikes, But honor wasn’t there, All they had was pretty hair & lustful flair, I told the banker I don’t care, We must free our minds & life ain’t fair.
