    Awesome job on the new camper , half the fun is making it your own . We have dabbled on a small hard side move up from our popup but with todays prices and even though it’s a little extra setup work we’re keeping the popup , it’s so much bigger I can sleep seven if need be , the couch and slide dinette not to mention the potty make it worth it and it stores in my garage .

    Thanks! Pop-up's are a great option! You definitely have some benefits with the easy of storage and space you get when they are popped up. Happy camping!

    Hi, I have a Fam as well, and I use bungee straps to keep the door from flying open while drive. I normally will hook mines to the window latch and pull it to the door knobs on the storage cabinets by the sink. Such a life saver! Hope that helps.

    Hello again! Just pick my 2023 Bushwacker BH, just wondering how long your 12v fridge last for in battery power? I love all of you custom upgrades.

    Awesome! Hope you have a great first outing! The battery the camper comes with lasted about 2 days with the fridge, heater and water pump in use. Remember you can’t draw these batteries to 0. If you do they won’t last very long. That’s what happened to Michelle last year. She didn’t realize that and the battery was dead when she started camping this summer. Michelle just switched her batteries to lithium to get a longer time off grid. We are heading out today on a long trip together, I’ll let you know how the new batteries work!

    Can you tell me exactly how big the mattresses are?

  • @outdoorsmadesimple

    They are a bit wider than a twin at 42" x 78". If you remove the back for the dinette (which is what Michelle did) the main bed becomes just short of a queen in width.

    How much is the total length from the back bumper to the tip of the tongue jack? I have 20 feet driveway and can I park this in my driveway?

  • @outdoorsmadesimple

    @outdoorsmadesimple

    Жыл бұрын

    It is 18 feet from bumper to tongue (the part that connects to your hitch ball). So it should fit in your driveway. You should always measure yourself of course!

    How did you do the shower wall?

  • @outdoorsmadesimple

    @outdoorsmadesimple

    Жыл бұрын

    Michelle ended up screwing the shelves into the shower wall. She could not get any of the stick on methods to work. Obviously you would need to be careful about how you use the shower once you do this. You don’t want water in the walls!

    Hello..just bought a new Bushwacker..on the first camping trip I attempted to use the heater The new heater smell triggered the smoke detector and now I’m scared to use it lol Did you have same experience? Thanks

  • @outdoorsmadesimple

    @outdoorsmadesimple

    10 ай бұрын

    Oh no! That doesn’t sound great. Michelle said the heater did smell the first time (ours did too on a different trailer model) but not enough to set off the smoke detector. Might want to have that checked.

    I've been looking into this model, can you kindly ask what vehicle she drives to tow her solo fam? I believe I saw a Honda minivan or Toyota Highlander?? 🙏

  • @outdoorsmadesimple

    @outdoorsmadesimple

    She is pulling this with a Subaru Ascent. It does seem to tow well the caveat is they get really bad gas mileage. I realize all tow vehicles get bad gas mileage but she was getting around 7 mpg on our Utah trip. By comparison we tow with a Subaru Outback. Our trailer is about 600 lbs lighter and our car is rated to tow 1500 less than the Ascent and we get about 15 mpg with our car.

    Awsome you and your family are having a great time in your new freesolo. We have an 2020 outback as well and are looking for a light weight trailer we can pull. All the dealers we have been to said we would be pushing it with the outback. How has yours handled the freesolo? Carlos, in texas2

  • @outdoorsmadesimple

    @outdoorsmadesimple

    Thanks for watching! Michelle doesn't have an Outback, she has an Ascent. I personally would not use the Outback to tow the Freesolo. There are lots of differing opinions on towing so you definitely have to decide what makes sense for you. The Outdoors Made Simple family has a 2020 Outback XT which we use to pull our Alto F1743. For comparison, the Freesolo is 3320 lbs fully loaded and the Alto is 2700lbs. Our Outback can tow 3500lb. I like to keep it to
