It was so heartbreaking to watch the elk crying and fighting for his life. After being rescued, the elk didn't run away immediately, he still stood and turned his head to look at his rescuers as a thank you. What a happy ending. The men are brave and are real life unsung heroes saving a precious creature. Admire and respect.

Real Heroes

How do people manage to get wildlife rescuers to respond to such incidents. In Ridgefield CT a few years ago one evening, I came across a raccoon sticking his nose out of a small rusty hole of a very large dumpster. I’m a quadriplegic in a power chair so all I could do was make calls to try to get someone out there to rescue it from certain death. Called the police, all the nearby rescue organizations in the area that I could google. Not one single person was willing to help. In the morning I again called the business where the dumpster was located, and finally someone came out and put a board inside that the raccoon used to climb out.

Those guys rock.

Least people were able to help the poor innocent animals

It really makes me wonder, why don't we have the same reaction when we see farm animals, especially in industrial farms? They're all headed towards the same fate, but because they're seen as products, it somehow justifies their ownership by farmers. Animals aren't objects, and it doesn't seem right that we claim ownership over them, especially just to exploit them... Hope this video inspires those who haven't yet recognized the daily tragedy of animal loss we're responsible for.
