0:46 Tony Robinson (”Baldrick” et al) gets shoved into what was then a very, very dirty dock.

The Duke is the star but pretty Judy Geeson makes this film all the more enjoyable. Great cast here ! Dialogue such as "would you like to try for England's free dental care" or "he paid 25 grand to give me that view" and all the other great lines isn't written anymore. Some weren't ready for The Duke to be in a non-western but I think he did fine in "McQ" which was his previous film.

I bet most people don't realize this movie is actually a sort-of remake of an episode of MADIGAN: "The London Beat" with Richard Widmark, from a few years earlier! Virtually the same plot, as I recall, but with a slightly-bigger budget. The guy he beats up at the beginning is played by Arthur Batanides, who was in both LOST IN SPACE and STAR TREK. But my favorite in here is probably Richard Attenborough as Chief Inspector Swan. Every time I watch this, Swan reminds me SO much of a friend of mine from a church social group back in the 90s. I mean, really, very similar face and personality!

I was 6 years old when this movie came out. All I can say is John Wayne "The Duke" was the Best as a cowboy.

I dont know about you, but I remember only 30 years ago Europe being a civilized and safe continent full of europeans. Our cities are full of africans and arabs. It is now a continent where teachers are getting beheaded after school, and women and children do not walk safe on the streets. That is NOT Europe. That is the Third World.

We were never the same but had Wayne and Vernon pay a call. This isn't Chicago. Leadenhall Market in one scene. I was later to be tailored there. I always knocked so I did and wiped my nose and shoes.

"Knock Knock" ha! How funny they somehow recycled that line in the 1987 Predator movie . Maybe as an homage to this movie ? Sad they don't make movies like these anymore . It was more realistic than alot cop/action movies we have today which are all boring af offering WTF moments and the abused use of CGI + the two most important things is no physics and actors that cannot act well makes it already a failure as movie imho .

This and McQ were made to try and make up for the fact that John Wayne didn’t get to play Dirty Harry and they both didn’t do much for me
