Was really good, I wanted to try and go without filming anything as you end up watching the event through a lens and miss things (typical youtuber wants to film everything lol) and worry about filming things and what people will enjoy. Actually end up enjoying the event more watching the video lol

Im so gutted I missed this event but thankfully going to Mini in the Park, so many beautiful cars lol, im hoping I will be able to find my old R53 that I regret selling 😁. Another great video mate 👍

@DamoDrives Too much to mention 😅, always hate having to go through the list at insurance quote time haha. It's got a remap, bigger intercooler, wide flares, obviously all the other spoilers and splitters etc. Half cage, light weight bucket seats and removable steering wheel, a lot of the interior is stripped. Next year am looking to do polycarbonate windows with sliders, hybrid turbo as the current one is at its limit and different exhaust system. Might slightly raise the car too as its too low to the ground up front (gone through 3 front splitters already since February)

Looks a great event and Brands Hatch only about a 40 minute drive from where I live. I've just sold an R53 Mini Cooper JCW GP after 5 years of ownership. I first had a JCW GP about 10 years ago and was totally reliable but sold after a couple of years having been offered good money. The latter car had a few issues and had to spend a fair amount of money on her over the years but a lot of fun though.

I love the R53 although she does need some TLC and looking after but won’t be long before they are a classic. I do like the reliability of a modern Mini mind you and the build quality is so much better. The fact a know fault is a window getting stuck and you have to hit it just above the speaker or random bits just needing replacing when it’s not being driven. Part of the joys though and you have to expect them.

Love the GP cars, driven the GP2 and GP3 and most generations of JCW. GP3 I feel needs a few minor tweaks to be perfect as it’s a bit skittish on bumpy roads and the gear box could do with remapping and be a bit more aggressive.

Are the older mark 2 Mini's really unreliable? Thinking of getting one for the wife 👍

The MK2 R53 is slightly better than the MK1. I have been told the R56 N14 is not very reliable. I would say they are great fun cars with lots of character but it’s important to keep on top of the maintenance and look after them. R53 Cooper S and JCW have poor MPG. Hopefully some other people can advise as well
