Actually the guy talking is Tim Dagget, Olympic Gold Medalist for the U.S. So he knows what hes talking about. Also the true test of mastery in gymnastics is to make what you do look easy. So when he grimaces the judges see he is struggling and can deduct. Obviously Brandon is the U.S' best rings guy; however, tim has a point.

No gym work involved. It is all body weight trained exercise with a partner. when your holding up your body with just your shoulder extended there is plenty of downward force in the right direction. No weights are needed.

I want to see the commentator do this routine with a relaxed face. I don’t care who you are gymnast or not why you gonna criticize someone’s face- you get points off for that? Hahaha

Brandon used to lift weights in high school. Today his physique is built almost entirely with bodyweight training. He does lift weights occasionally, to keep his joints healthy, or because he wants to, but 98% of his training is done with various bodyweight exercises.

@@nourghazal296 bro of course it is easier when you're not that tall but Yuri Van Gelder is incredibly strong and didn't just jump up to the rings and was able to do skills like Maltese press inverted cross. He also had to train very smart and hard to achieve his goals
