I remember Rex Smith as a teen idol. Never understood the draw. But then I saw him perform in Sunset Blvd in Vancouver, and I got it. Had no idea about this pivotal moment happening in my hometown. Such a beautiful story and so happy he will forever connect Vancouver with this happy time in his life. You rock Rex!

Meno Ford “never understood the draw” well, I mean, he wasn’t bad looking, and he sang ballads in the 70s. The appeal seems obvious to me, whether or not I was a fan, which, I wasn’t. I don’t like ballads, but he was good looking, I was too young to give a crap.

I'm sure there are 30 other comments like this, but I have never seen a kid look so much like his dad! That is crazy!!!

Videos like this is why I love KZread. I became a Rex fan ever since I watched Street Hawk in the 80s.

Oh my goodness......I LOVED Rex soooo when i was a teenager! I had his album and played it till I warped it. Yes Brandon looks sooo much like his daddy. Such a sweet story.. I'm so sorry Brandon lost his momma but so happy he has siblings and his dad now....a wonderful son and wife of his own. :)

The kid said his mother's health improved, so she may not be dead. Of course, since Rex Smith's Canadian tour of Sunset Boulevard took place in 1995, this story is 21 yrs old, so who knows. He has a now-17 yo son from his marriage to his manager.

Same smile. They do look alot alike. So glad for Rex in finding he's dad.

Nina Dickson but what if they are assholes? In theory, that is, I’m sure they are a mix of lots of characteristics. But if there is a dick in the lot, at least it will be an attractive dick.

i was at a summer stock program and he came as a master class teacher. neat experience.

Glad I'm not the oldest, I'm the baby my 2 brothers are 17 and 19 year's my senior respectively, and Iove them both dearly.

They look more like older and younger brother than father and son, since Rex Smith was so youthful-looking when this video was shot, I'm guessing in the 1990s.

Well regardless of the past, what matters is now. They seem to both be very happy about being reunited and his son is actually better looking than him! Mind you, Rex is a hottie still, but his son has very handsome eyes. His mother must be very attractive.

1979. The kid was born in 1980. AIDS wasn't a thing until the mid-80s. The most you had to worry about in the 70s was a case of the clap.
