If you haven't read go get it. It's one of his best works. But then they all are masterpieces. So far there's only one I have read yet its The Unadulterated Cat.

That's interesting, bc exept of "Science of Discworld" "Small gods were my least favourite. Not bc it's a bad book but it doesn't have some things that I read "Discworld" for. Also it was basically a repetition of my religious studies class.

The first STP book I read was Reaper Man whilst I was on holiday at my grandparents and bored. I was HOOKED! I have the full collection of his Discworld books and I really struggle to think of a favourite. The one that moves me the most though is Shepherds Crown. 😢

I just went to a used bookstore to look for Terry Pratchett books and the owner says he almost never gets them. For good reason. I laughed so hard when you said a vampire with a suicidal facination with flash photography. "Dog Food!?" His indignation 😂😂😂 My personal favourate is Witches Abroad. No more happy endings!

I don't think I could answer that question. My favorite animated/movie adaptation of Terry Prachett's books is Weird Sisters. Anytime i feel sad or down I watch it. "Ha, you missed! Arrgh", "Perhaps you weren't aware of what I was aiming at. Mother of the night indeed..." Peace y'all

Do it. There are handy charts on where to start. I went in the order of publication and it’s a point of contention whether that’s wise since the first two novels are objectively less tightly constructed and well-written than later ones. However, I was extremely into it from the start and I heard it working for a lot of people.

I'd suggest the City Watch Books. - Well, if you want to read that in order, I would start with Guards! Guards! first. But I think Night's Watch is his best one. The Watch-Books are about an underfinanced and understaffed police-force filled with... somewhat lost characters, under the lead of a drunkard that have taken in a too idealistic new recruit. It's a persiflage on detective novels, and it has my favourite persiflage of dragon-fantasy-books and also of the most dramatic moment in the Hobbit, and how he handled it is hilarious. He spins the Story of the Watchmen on, following their careers. But Night's Watch is the climax of the cycle and pretty serious and philosophically deep, and made Sam Vimes my favourite character. And it is for you, if you are into 'idealistic politics' like the story of 'Les Miserables.' People that read that book wear lilac in April, because they were there with the 'People's Republic of Trecle Mine Road'. We fight for Freedom, Justice, reasonably priced Love and... - a hard boiled egg.

All the books with Death in it or the Unseen University wizards are my fav. But I guess Sam Munk from the city watch is the most easily relatable protagonist especially if you don't usually read this type of book

I suggest you start with Mort. It's #4 in the series and it represent the BEST of the Discworld series. DEATH as a main character. The phenomenon word play and mental flips. It's the book that introduced me to Discworld and I've been laughing since.
